I just looked through P3Droid's tweets to make sure I hadn't missed anything, but I didn't find a comments about it being released between t-day and Christmas. Was it somewhere other than Twitter that he stated this?

I'll say it again though, the only source stating a release after 11/17/2011 is the Telegraph, and they said it in an almost off-handed way making me think they misquoted or misunderstood a statement by Samsung in Europe. Or Samsung Europe doesn't really know much about the release plans in the US, which is completely possible.

Agreed. A couple of weeks ago it was the GPU. Then removable vs. non-removable battery. Now, just the release date. I guess the fear mongering and heart attacks is good for our goal to get as many posts as possible before we get the baby in our hands. Beats talking about TV.

holy moly, did you see Dexter Sunday night?! Poor Brother Sam. . aggggghhhhhhhh. And WHY/HOW could Dexter let that person go?! Goes against everything else in his character. He kills accomplices, too, otherwise he never would have killed those "johns" that paid for some time with Lumen while she was a prisoner, right?! Right?!!!

His whole plan is to try and catch Gellar as well. And I think he's going to be mighty embarrassed when he finds out he's a figment of Colin Hanks' imagination.

Yeah, I've bought into your theory now too. ;)

I believe Dexter is questioning the Code and trying to evolve past his perceived "monsterness". But yeah...I was shocked that he let Travis go. Still wondering about EJO, though...real, or Harry-like figment of Travis' imagination? Dum Dum Duuuuuummmmmmmm.....stay tuned! :D

Yeah, I can see that, the "evolution". But isn't this whole show leading up to the ultimate end of him getting caught? At the very least, Deb is going to find out. If he suddenly turns into this Mr. Rogers character, that will seem really unfair. But regardless, I think Sam is going to make it, and now he's going to be off the Doomsday Killer's trail while he tracks down the guy who tried to kill Sam. This season is one of the best, second only to season 4 (Trinity)!

Well, I guess I'm just going to prepare myself for the possibility that I won't see the SGN til December. I'm 80/20 in favor that we'll see it on the 17th, but I'm just going to really try and think December so that I don't get disappointed.

I thought I remembered seeing this prior to the Telegraph article yesterday. The statement that Samsung made at the Europe launch of the Note and Nexus was that it would roll out to Europe first and the rest of the world later. Here is what I saw on 10/27

Galaxy Nexus hits Europe Nov. 17, elsewhere thereafter | Android Central

But if you read engadget or phandroid's report, it leaves up for speculation whether the US is included in "the rest of the world" And even if it is, since Europe is ahead of US time-zone wise, the roll out on the 17th for the US would in fact occur after the Europe roll out by a few hours... I am sticking with the 17th.
 
What ticks me off even more is AT&T has the Galaxy SII and is getting th Galaxy SII LTE next week! In my eyes, the SII is as good and maybe even better hardware-wise than the Nexus and Verizon passed on it to get this phone supposedly. Now it's looking more and more like Verizon passed on it to give their Droid line preference and keep competing phones out. The way they have handled this Galaxy SII launch and the Galaxy Nexus launch, makes me want to go back to AT&T so I can actually get the phones I want in a timely manner. Verizon lets announcements come and go on phones and then actually launches them WAY after the announcement from the manufacturer when there is already another phone in the pipeline. Phones are nearly outdated by the time they release them (a little exaggeration, but honestly not much...look at the Bionic)

I know, but based on his track record of stirring the pot to see the reactions he gets, I doubt his intentions. He has great leaks in the Dev community, but I think he kind of rides BMX's coattails on release dates and such. BMX is the one that said between Tday and Xmas first, way back when.

P3Droid just really strikes me as an attention hog, so anything he says that is stirring, whether positive or negative, gets a big ":rolleyes:" from me.

If BMX or Kellex says that it's getting "delayed" (in quotes because it can't be delayed if it was never announced to arrive on a certain date), then I'll worry. Til then, I'm that guy sitting on the beach with a Corona and a lime staring out at the sea. (except for the occasional outburst, of course)
 
That's it, I'm jinxing November 17th as a release date. I added a countdown widget to my homescreen which should expire on 11/17 at 10:00am.

I've gone and done it. Now we're screwed! :p

Riddle me this, Batman:
1. why did Verizon say we'd be "very happy" with the Nexus waaay back when, if they aren't promoting it?
2. what the frak did the poem mean about "fore on Bruce Wayne's true father did die" - shouldn't that mean the Gnex would be out by now? (reading "fore" as in "before" not as in "for")
 
Things I have learned so far since subscribing to this thread:

1 - We have a love/hate relationship with VZW

2 - There are others that check this thread/forum just as often as I do, therefore not making me crazy. (maybe)

3 - I probably should have watched Dexter from the beginning because it sounds like a good show

4 - We could conceivably push people down steps like slinkies for starting rumors and spreading untruths

5 - Productivity at most of our jobs is not anywhere near 100%.

Did I miss anything?
