I found it!

Is it this little classic?

:D:p

I found an excellent way to keep someone in suspense indefinitely!

In the navy it was great to start a line at a locked door and see how long it got after a while. You would step away and people would continue waiting in line for hours for nothing!!!

looool!

Wow this thread must be Stickied immediately I say!

xD

(Just joking! ;))

Word of explanation about removed posts in this thread:

One post early on was removed for its possible perception by some of being not appropriate in a family forum such as AF. That post was quoted several times in amusing responses, so those posts were also either edited or removed.

Then, a post not quoting the original removed post but referencing it via one of the removed responses to it had to be removed. :D

Let's keep in mind the understanding that age limits are not enforced at Android Forums, so the "family forum" notion is what we're all looking for as we make our posts. I know that sometimes a sort of "peripheral reference" is made that has a sexy/risque/ thing about it, but we're just trying to disallow it going any farther than that, and playing it safe.

Please understand. :)

I've heard of these types of jokes from amphibs and carriers. It seems that marines were more likely to fall for it. No one fell for it on my destroyer. If someone was standing around for too long somewhere, they got interrogated :P "What are you doing?" "why are you just slacking off here?" etc.

We did manage to get people going on wild goose chases for items that didn't exist, though. Like a water hammer and a cable stretcher. I once got a guy looking around all the electronic shops asking for a 1 megafarad capacitor.
