She's my second dog rescue and I've had 3 rescue cats - Can't imagine getting a pet any other way now!

Would it be wrong to name her Galaxasaurous Nex? :p Just kidding... I think...

I volunteer with two rescues as a foster parent and home evaluator, and all of my pets were rescues, and I agree. I love to hear that from other people! I currently have a foster/hospice golden retriever (in addition to my own two pugs and cat that I rescued).

I'm just curious as to what others think about this. We here come up with our own ideas about VZW doing this or that so that the phones don't compete with one another. For example, "VZW wouldn't want to announce the GNex release date before the Razr hits the shelfs because people might just decide to wait and compare them side by side."

That statement makes perfect sense to us here on this forum because we are well informed about whats about to come down the pipe, but do we even matter in the grand scale of things? I've yet to meet someone on the street/office/friends house/etc that has a droid. I ask, "nice phone, what kind is it?" and the response I ALWAYS have gotten is, "its a droid." So I reply, "I know that but what phone exactly." They then get this blank look and turn the phone over and say, "it's an HTC (or insert company here)". They have no clue what they bought.

So do you really think VZW is even worried about releasing phones so close together? Most (actually every single real life droid owner I ever met) just walked into VZW when they needed a new phone and bought the shiny one on the shelf and wouldn't have a clue if a phone 20 times better is being released the following day.

Its just been on my mind lately, are we the monority and if so, how minor are we?

Do you guys think it's possible that Verizon only releases an LTE version and not an HSPA+ version as well? And if they do does anyone know if this Verizon LTE version would work in Canada (Rogers/Fido)?

I can't speak for all of us, but believe me, I AM TICKED!!! The delay in release was bad enough, but even after all the delays, they STILL managed to release a phone that has so many glitches, issues and flat out flaws that I call my Bionic "The Six Million Dollar NIGHTMARE"

I have actually considered buying a Devour off of Ebay for $50 to use until the Nexus drops. Sure, it'll be old, small and slow, but at least I wont be pulling the battery mutiple times per day (in between those times when it is randomly deleting/uninstalling apps and also rebooting itself).

Honestly, I think I would get more reliable performance trying to make calls on an ACTUAL Ice Cream Sandwich versus the Bionic!

Haha. I'll talk to the swans man next time I see him.

I feel for you. I have a feeling this phone was released based on pressure from Verizon rather than Motorola.

Personally I would dump the bionic while it has some value and eat the cost difference. I think you would be happier.

Verizon will not release a HSPA version. Why would they? They don't use that technology.

What the.......

Nevermind. I don't want to know. I don't want to know. I don't want to know.

OK, maybe go into a little more detail. :D

LMAO - rosie is the name of the launcher on Sense.

I've thought the same thing many times about how much of a minority we are are in reality. It seems like we are a lot, but compared to how many people actually own an android phone then I think we probably look more like a drop in the bucket.

BUT we are a well informed drop!

That commercial is amazing -- rekindles all my excitement for this device.

I cannot wait for this thing to be released -- nothing is going to sway me from buying it.

You're a busy lady! I can't wait to get my little ***insert TBD real name here ***/ Nexie for a nickname home! If the Nexus launches on the 17th, it would be perfect timing for all the photo ops!

On the commercial, I wonder if the composer is Philip Glass? He's one of my favs.

philip glass: glassworks - YouTube

Edit: He has done music for commercials before. If they didn't hire Glass, they totally ripped him off.

Hey!! This is my 500th post!

Nope you are on point. This is the reality.

We are a very very very very very very very small community.

Didn't know that. Let me pick my mind up, it's in the gutter somewhere around here.

As for the minority, we definatly are. There are 20k posts, but Han, CK, Chief and Stephen are like 20%. The rest are 20 or so very active posters, and a couple hundred stragglers.

Now multiply that by 100 that aren't here and thats a few thousand people. Drop in the bucket compared to the number of anticipated sales.

Still, I just have this gut feeling that the phone will sell out on launch day. I don't know if supply constraint rumors are true, or if anything else is going on, but I just feel a disturbance in the force.
