Root GB OTA has started if you are rooted stock please read this

cant make it work
media F/C
phone F/C
then it calms down and no more force close
still only 1X signal
and I can make a call but cant recieve, goes straight to voice mail

That is odd...have you tried flashing the new radios? I can't think of a reason why you would be getting force closes like that

I seem to have it working....but
even after flashing the newest radio, Im still stuck at 1X
speed test shows a D/L speed of 128kb lol
im set on cdma+lte/evdo auto
maybe its verizon again in my area??
getting used to a non sence rom
but this isnt good

Did you make a nandroid backup of the sense rom you were on previously? If so boot into recovery and backup liquid then restore the sense backup to see if you have anything above 1x. It could be an outage in your area (why I didn't think of that I will never know) but I have a feeling it isn't yet couldn't hurt to check.

thanks for all the advice! Put the Sim card in, booted up, took the ota, then ran revolutionary, and so far, so good. Everything seems to be working great. A really stupid question, though.....how do i get to recovery mode, I think it was a blue recovery.I'm all ready to try a rom.
Ok, two stupid questions, which ROM? (I like eye candy and battery life?)

You get into recovery by powering off, hold volume down while powering back on, then you will be in hboot, use the volume keys to highlight "recovery" then press the power button.

As to which rom with eye candy and battery life I personally am liking Liquid 3.1 currently, it is an AOSP rom and by eye candy I think you may want to try a Sense based rom. Really you should try out a few then decide what you like best.

And neither of those are stupid questions ;)

Like Yeahha said, liquid 3.1 is one of the best AOSP ROM's available. Excellent battery life and overall performance...But if you want more eye candy, I would give Bamf Soab a try, [GB][2.11.605.3][Sense3.5]BAMF SoaB v1.03, or Touch my bamf,[ROM][GB]Touch My BAMF Remix 1.0.4...Those were a few of my favorite sense based :)..You also have to see what ROM your Tbolt likes the best as well, all bolts run better on a certain rom, so you just have to try em all out...but don't worry, you'll love it :)

Running 1.70.605.0 rooted using revolutionary.
Returned to stock recovery using Scotty's link
OTA downloaded; install commenced.

Install fails before flashing with following log:

Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Copying fotaBoot to /data/system for customize reload...
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/com.htc.StockWidget.apk" [here follow two MD5 sums which do not match] )
E:Error in /cache/fumo/OTAPkg.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

I wiped cache and eventually the system allowed me to re-download the OTA. Same result.

Have you removed any bloatware? it sounds like it is checking your currently /system and verifiying files and getting errors

You might need to reflash the stock rooted rom and accept the OTA shouldn't need to wipe anything since it is the rom you are already on

Thanks, that's helpful. Having gone back to stock recovery, I imagine my ClockWorkMod images will be gone even if I reinstall ClockWorkMod, so I can't simply restore from backup, right?

No they are on your SD as long as you flash the same version you had before you should be able to restore. I would actually recommend you just flashing the OTA rom in recovery instead of the prior OTA rom as it will update you and prevent you from having to do as many flashs in hboot

I finally got fed up with the stock OTA BS and flashed Liquid 3.0. I LOVE IT! And I don't miss Sense at all, which was a concern.

I'm going to 3.1 now.

Just an fyi, as I'm sure you were all really worried about what became of me and my TB... :D

So I rooted a friend's Thunderbolt with Revolutionary. (Currently running Stock Froyo with S-Off) If I flash this update in Clockworkmod do I also have to update the radio? (I noticed the radio isn't included in the zip) Just wondering if not flashing an updated radio will break anything.
