I understand the reasoning behind charging for tethering for plans with "unlimited " data. That can /would be highly abused but in no way should they charge you for tethering in tiered plans. Luckily T-Mobile hasn't done anything to me yet for tethering a few times a month.

I understand. Just trying to satisfy my curiosity as to whether this subject is even worth looking in to. I'm thinking probably not. I'll drop it now. :)

My ignorance of the subject stems from the fact that I'm a total newbie in the Android world, and that I have zero experience with Verizon, aside from what I've heard from others.

If FIOS was available where I live, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. I'm so sick of Comcast, and I can't bring myself to put a dish on my house that gets disrupted every time there's a storm. Oh, and DSL? Been there, done that, not doing it again.

Questions are good and as long as you heed the rules and are just asking then all involved are happy. Our mods, guides and members are all very happy to help teach. We were all new at one point.

@CAM if you only wish to use tethering say for a week, you can simply add the feature to your plan before you leave then cancel it when you get back, Verizon will just charge you a prorated fee for the time you had the feature activated. I had call about this myself and have verified.

remember BMX saying earlier this week we would see some "leaked" information by weeks end.... i dont think that every came through :( i know we seen the WIP screen shot, but i doubt that was what he meant since it didnt come from google, but apparently from someone within verizon working on it. any thoughts?

My whole issue with stuff like this is that tethering and other services I think became revenue features because as devices that supported showed up it created support costs they didn't really plan for and then as they started charging to cover that cost they realized it was a profit outlet also and that whole circle just keeps going round and round.

I just wish there was a ZERO support dumb pipe option where you promise not to ask for help unless you pay for the help. Those of us that are capable of helping ourselves than their support infrastructure is of helping us could save some money. Same goes for retail stores, we would have to pay for their peeps to do things for us, but we would get cheaper plans. There is no reason we should pay as much as we do and these companies still not show better profits than they do. There are horrible inefficiencies and I think a lot of them are related to technical support infrastructure many of us rarely use.

I said yesterday that I had my doubts about BMX. His poems and tweets, not only grammatically/spelled incorrectly, say very little other than what is already known. And most of what wasn't known has been shown to be wrong. Anyone could have said that this week would provide some concrete info... I expected it too. And again, it was wrong.

He seems like a nice guy. I am just not sure how really connected he is.

Kellex, on the other hand, said that the Rezound would release on the 14th. Everyone said, "No way"... Verizon only releases on Thursday. And what do you know... he was spot on.

So, my money is on Kellex with the 17th for GN's release. Plus the Samsung guy said that the release date has not changed and their is no delay. The 17th is the day that it releases in Europe. VZW and Google would look ridiculous to allow the US to take 2nd seat to Europe. But all just conjecture... since I am not connected and unfortunately have no source. :D

ASL GSD, WGSL, or Working? Or perhaps you don't know? We actually just put a deposit down on a Czech working line breeding from z Diehlomov kennel. Mike Diehl is sort of a legend in the working GSD community.

I'm not gonna argue with you over the legitimacy of some guy I don't know, but it's easier to make a correct release date prediction 2 weeks before launch instead of 2 months.

These things change...quickly.

Feel free to disregard panda if you want, but there's a reason why he's highly regarded in the Android Community.

Agree Panda is good with info and he cannot help if release dates get changed. he usually calls them tho when they do so nobody is making you listen to anyone.

Unfortunately, we've lost 3 GSDs in 3 years, last of them this year. They are magnificent animals, and we hope to adopt some more.
