***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I just called Verizon to see what BS I could get out of them myself so I fed them the most attractive story I could think of to lure them into tellin me when the release date is. I told them I'm currently with AT&T out of contract, dropped my phone and broke it, and I am looking around at the Galaxy SII and really like it but noticed they didn't have the SII but were supposedly getting the Nexus. I asked him when they would be getting it.

"I do not know when the release date is, but I would guess some time this month, probably towards the end of the month."

Nvidia announces the Tegra 3 quad core chip and promises HUGE performance increases from the Tegra 2, and the Nexus still has yet to be given an official Verizon release date.

Sigh...

Keep in mind, that's just an article and not an official spec sheet. Not unusual for an article to miss a detail like that.

I'd pretty much guarantee that's it would be SAMOLED+.

The reason old phones didn't use SAMOLED+ was because Samsung didn't have the capability to print subpixels at that resolution. Once they refined thier process, pretty much everything coming off the line is SAMOLED+ now. Can you think of a recently released phone using an AMOLDED display that doesn't use the + version? I find it highly unlikely we'll se qHD screens in anything but RGB configurations from here out.

GNex is in the same boat. Samsung can't print HD screens with 3 subpixels at that resolution. So we're stuck with pentile.

The qHD SAMOLED on Razr is pentile screen. It's already confirmed by reviewers. To my knowledge SGSII is the only phone that got SAMOLED+.

Something really big is going on behind the curtain.
They could of released it back in October if things were peachy and keen.
I say we will know all mid next week, if not it will be a train wreck for sure.

It was nice of you to post this, but just remember they are nothing but sales reps and they will say anything to you to get you to buy into Verizon.

I'm going to call later and tell them that my phone is done for and I want the Nexus and if I don't have confirmation that it will be released in the next 2 weeks then I am switching to ATT for the Galaxy SII.

Being an optimist here, but I still think we still might here something official from Verizon tomorrow. The last real MAP document I saw had the date listed as 11/10 for Nexus, and that document also included the late October bump for the RAZR. I remember that document came out quite a few days before the RAZR pre-order was announced, and low-and-behold it turned out to be true.

Unless they changed it on the MAP and nobody leaked out the updated copy. My most optimistic guess would be announced tomorrow for pre-order or release on 17th/21. If we don't hear anything today or tomorrow, I would expect the earliest we'll get to hear anything is Monday/Tuesday.

Soon guys, I know we can all do it!

I am just wondering if ICS will come out in to flavors.
One for cells with hard buttons and no soft buttons and one with just soft buttons. Or is there away to disable the soft buttons in ICS?

Where is the SGSII-HD????:) << A better phone with better specs.:):)
