Phonearena review:

Quite a few comments that seem to differ from other reviews:
bad visibility outside; off angles awful
camera not very sharp and purple tint.
on the positive
call quality is good

LOL! It seems like the exact opposite of every other review I've read or seem. I guess that proves some things really are subjective. Just really weird everything is reversed.

can anybody who already has it or gets it today let me know if this HTC phone has the quick battery drain from 100% from 86%-ish like other HTC phones? thanks in advance!

Hence best to check the device out yourself. This guy must be blind as a bat as well, since comparing the Razr and Rezound next to each other showed me how weak the Razr looks in comparison. Ditto for the camera, since it took detailed pics, as other reviews mention. I wonder if he had something on the lens? ;)

Compare the devices in store today and see for self :)

On Verizon's website the phone price is $299 on 2 year contract. My NE2 upgrade date is 1/08/2012. I am eligible to upgrade at 2 year contract price. When I add the phone to upgrade the price is $249. Is this a special online price or am I eligible to get this discount in the store also? I want to go and get this phone at 10am at the store. But, is it worth it to order online and save $50?

I second this. I'm wondering the same thing.

I am not seeing this price. I am not eligible until 12/28/2011 and when I go to upgrade it gives me the full retail price. Even when I log out of my account and try to add as a new customer it does not show $249 but $299.

So, can anyone explain how they are getting that $50 off?

Well I'm not sure sure he's blind as a bat or whatever you said; but i think the problem with the camera is he was bitten a little by the shallower dept of field from using a faster lens. I took a look at a few of the photos and video and at the point of focus they looked fairly sharp. There was a bit of a purple tint in a couple of the images but it wasn't clear to me where it came from; perhaps flare?

I'm glad I have the Rezound battery already, full charge and then slipping into that thing. I'll probably be the only person to have a fully charged battery prior to tinkering with the device! "It's good to be the king!"

FWIW, my Incredible upgrade is 12/29, but it is offering a $10 discount to 289.00 for Rezound right now. Funny thing is, I have two other lines on my account due for upgrades just past, 8/23/11, and both of them also say 289.00.

I suspect my Inc upgrade will drop to 249.00 as I'm pretty sure I have 1 NE2 upgrade left, but I could definitely be wrong. At any rate, the left-over NE2 is why I believe 'others' are seeing/getting a 249.00 price. Again, could be wrong though.

I said blind as a bat- not dim. Bats are kind of smart for flying rodents.... Plus, some species look like cute little mice with wings.

I was shown a price of $249 at 4am, and now at 12:30pm I am getting a price of $269. I ordered it last week and paid $299. I have sent an email. LOL

I am seeing a lower price and I already bought it. If I add a line, $269. That was at 12:30. It was $249 at 4am.

Stopped in at the local Verizon store just now. They don't have one in to take a look at yet. They said probably next week.

Ouch...just back from the store and picked one up. Pretty nice device so far, but won't have time to do much until later.

First one the sales person activated. Don't think he really messed with it, but seemed pretty impressed. A very soft launch for something that seems so loaded.

Nice to finally end the Eris misery.

Its currently showing 249 for me. I'm not sure if i have a lingering NE2 upgrade. I know my 20 month date isn't till March 2012.

For those that are on the fence between the Rezound and the Galaxy Nexus, a tester (P3Droid from twitter) has posted a review. It's not a video review (I wonder if the guy who did the one for the Rezound got in trouble because his thread and videos are gone from DroidLife & youtube).

He goes pretty in depth about most of the hardware (doesn't talk about the camera) and about ICS. From what I read, he's not really jazzed about the build quality or battery life (he's talking heavy use and he's down to 20% at around 4 1/2 hours, though he has a 1750mAh battery and there are reports that the Verizon version may launch with a 1850mAh battery). He talks about 4G signal (stronger signal than the Bioinc, but then another review also said that the Rezound was also better than the Bioinc & Razr), and GPS (takes about 10 seconds longer to get a lock similar to that on the Bionic). The speaker from his accounts soulded kinda weak.

After reading this review, I feel more confident on going with the Rezound. When I finished reading it, it seems like the only real selling point for the Nexus is it having ICS & no bloat out of the box. Rooting will get you the same thing, and if bloatware isn't an issue, ICS should be available for the Rezound early next year, so all in all, I'd rather get the better specs and (so far as some of the reviewers are saying) better battery life and wait for ICS. But that's just me.:)

Galaxy Nexus Review

P3's is extremely biased on the top three phones out right now. He's all about ICS...ICS this ...ICS that. However I will say that his review is somewhat fair that it points out some flaws in his opinion of the G-Nex.

I totally agree with you that it really seems to me that 90% of the glory for the G-Nex is ICS. So if you compare hardware to hardware in my book the ReZound is the winner. I don't really care if the G Nex has ICS because like you said there will be solutions to that for the ReZound pretty soon. As soon as the ICS source is released then CM9 will be in the works.

Be sure to comment on call quailty which you express concern earlier :)

I just read this morning that the source code for ICS is supposed to come out on the 17th.

Got a decent deal, but it won't be here till Wed.
My NE2 was the end of Dec, they moved that up no problem.
Also mentioned a $50 discount if buying online, got that over the phone.
She was awfully confused when I said I'd like to go to my local store and pick it up now...said it couldn't be shipped today, couldn't make it there till Wed...I said I'll just go get one from the store...nope, she didn't understand at all.
Wed can't come soon enough!
