Got a decent deal, but it won't be here till Wed.
My NE2 was the end of Dec, they moved that up no problem.
Also mentioned a $50 discount if buying online, got that over the phone.
She was awfully confused when I said I'd like to go to my local store and pick it up now...said it couldn't be shipped today, couldn't make it there till Wed...I said I'll just go get one from the store...nope, she didn't understand at all.
Wed can't come soon enough!

so based on what your saying is you couldn't walk in the store and buy the device for 249$ that is a web only deal? That blows.

Ouch...just back from the store and picked one up. Pretty nice device so far, but won't have time to do much until later.

First one the sales person activated. Don't think he really messed with it, but seemed pretty impressed. A very soft launch for something that seems so loaded.

Nice to finally end the Eris misery.

Ya, I think I will have to go to the town north of me which is the "real" verizon store, not the small little shop here in my town. This little shop here only has "fake" phones out with the picture as the screen. If you want to actually play with or use a phone, you have to see if they have one behind the counter.

can anybody who already has it or gets it today let me know if this HTC phone has the quick battery drain from 100% from 86%-ish like other HTC phones? thanks in advance!

Just got back from playing with it at the store. I liked the feel of the phone overall: good size and the right girth for me. It seemed a bit heavy though. Camera took quick pics but had trouble focusing (but I honestly didn't spend much time playing with this). Beautiful screen, lots of bloat, includes built-in task manager. I have a particular question regarding the disk space and partitions which I'm posting in a separate thread.

For those that are on the fence between the Rezound and the Galaxy Nexus, a tester (P3Droid from twitter) has posted a review. It's not a video review (I wonder if the guy who did the one for the Rezound got in trouble because his thread and videos are gone from DroidLife & youtube).

He goes pretty in depth about most of the hardware (doesn't talk about the camera) and about ICS. From what I read, he's not really jazzed about the build quality or battery life (he's talking heavy use and he's down to 20% at around 4 1/2 hours, though he has a 1750mAh battery and there are reports that the Verizon version may launch with a 1850mAh battery). He talks about 4G signal (stronger signal than the Bioinc, but then another review also said that the Rezound was also better than the Bioinc & Razr), and GPS (takes about 10 seconds longer to get a lock similar to that on the Bionic). The speaker from his accounts soulded kinda weak.

After reading this review, I feel more confident on going with the Rezound. When I finished reading it, it seems like the only real selling point for the Nexus is it having ICS & no bloat out of the box. Rooting will get you the same thing, and if bloatware isn't an issue, ICS should be available for the Rezound early next year, so all in all, I'd rather get the better specs and (so far as some of the reviewers are saying) better battery life and wait for ICS. But that's just me.:)

Galaxy Nexus Review

Don't post that in the Nexus forum cause they get kinda touchy....

Quick question; can noise cancellation mic be turned off ? Any issue with call quality or viewability in bright daylight ?
-
I'm begining to think that noise cancellation might be the issue with the cnet recording (this has been a problem on a couple of other phones in the past) hence my question if it can be disabled via an option or setting ...

Been a mod since May :)

Just got home with phone and totally wow'd so far

haha... I was just reading over there. "touchy" is an understatement.

I haven't read every post here, but I don't think people weighing the two phones have gotten snipped at as much over here. :p

Each of the 3 phones have their quirks and their selling points. Anyone that flat out thinks one phone is vastly superior to the other doesn't understand that different people will have different needs from their phone. For me the biggest is going to be 4G connectivity. Considering the back battery plate of the Rezound has all the metal connections I'm guessing its antenna is going to be better than the other two. I'll gladly deal with Verizon bloatware until a decent rom is found if it means I can get a more reliable 4G signal. The Razr looks great IMO but its large footprint doesn't match its performance compared to the other 2 phones. If I was more vain then I'd probably choose the Razr for performance close to the other two with a more sleek look. I think the Rezound is a good choice, but I also think the other 2 phones aren't bad choices either, depending on what you want the phone for.

If I would've posted in there it would've just been the link. After rumors today that the Nexus might be pushed back to December, I couldn't kick 'em when they're down.

That's actually the best time to kick people....easier to make a clean getaway....

Have had no issues with call quality.

Didn't have much day light to work with so will know better tomorrow about that.

Well I had thought that dropbox would be preinstalled per the rumors of htc dropbox deal. They were supposed to start you with 5gigs free instead of the 2 you get regularly, my dropbox was already completely maxed out (maxed out with free promotions) at 18.75gigs. I noticed no dropbox on the phone so when i downloaded it and logged in the client on pc popped up telling me I had just been upped to 21.75gigs. Looks like I got the 3 extra gigs anyway... pretty cool

I put dropbox on my phone and only got 2gb. I created a new account for this and did it from my Rezound. :(

Edit:
After posting, I got an email that said I get an extra 3gb since I put it on a HTC phone. :)

yeah right after typing that i realized your Device info was changed lol.

Did you go to the store and get it ? IF so how much did it set you back. ?

i'm hearing diff stories involving ordering online

300, after tax AND early upgrade fee it was 337. Manager said he would give me a credit for the $20 early upgrade fee though

Blows that you only get the extra 3gigs for 12 months though (according to the email)
