Did you notice that Verizon put the Razr as the first smartphone listed on the Verizon website under smart phones, yet they put the Rezound down the list behind all the iPhones? I thought they generally listed the phones by release date, which would put the Rezound first. Seems they're really not doing much to support this launch, though it did make it onto one of the home page images.

They must be anticipating a big draw on the Razr. Thing is, when I was at the store, there was very little traffic anywhere near the 4g displays. I wonder how this is all going to pan out.

VZW main focus to push for Q4 is the Razr. My friend that lets me test devices early confirmed this.

Man I LOVED that movie!

threadjack That goofy mofo makes some silly ass movies. He's the old school version of what the Wayans brothers did a few years ago with their Scary Movie/Date Movie franchises. It's too bad there isn't a real good contemporary comedy show like their old In Living Color show or Chappelle show that makes fun of contemporary life. I find the older shows that spoofed current affairs to be a more authentic version of history than some of the crap that's sterilized in our history books now. /threadjack

As far as Verizon and HTC's relationship, I'm betting it was strained back when the Thunderbolt was anticipated for release. The iPad 2 seemingly got more press than the Thunderbolt, and I think was probably bumped back a few weeks because of the iPad 2. I don't think there's any love lost between HTC and Verizon. Heck, I think Verizon offered free wireless tethering on the Thunderbolt for a few months because someone probably dropped the ball on monitoring the use of the Wifi hotspot. Which reminds me, has anyone tried to use the Wifi hotspot and does it ask you if you're signed up through Verizon? Might be a good idea to try it, maybe you'll get a few months of free Wifi.....

Hotspot app is on a homescreen already and when i opened it it didnt say anything about extra charges. fwiw i havent played with it cause i got stuck at wharehouse counting inventory, plus i dont have a very good 4g signal at home....

Will play with it soon though (i hope)

I use belt holsters that have loops to make more secure. Looks dorky, but affords a naked device.

I think I'm going to get the Indiana Jones bag/whip/hat combo....

Wow, so you didn't even get the pop up message that says Wifi hotspot is an extra cost feature? Monitor your data usage if you get it going and you may call Verizon CS so they don't tack on extra fees for using it.

Oh and another thing, you might want to change the name of the Wifi SSID because when I used Verizon's generic name, "HTC Wifi" I believe, I had some clown with an Android phone trying to connect to my Wifi signal.

You can always name it what I did once, I had a manager that was a POS idiot a few jobs ago so when I'd go to work I'd turn on my Wifi hotspot and name it "Mooney sucks!" (name of my idiot manager) so whenever anyone would connect to Wifi at work, they'd see that as an available Wifi connection. :D

Kind of scary, I opened it and got the warning, I fled as fast as I could.

Was it the message with the computer on the screen or was it the, "Warning you need the mobile hotspot feature from Verizon Wireless in order to use this service...."

From what I understand Verizon requires some sort of account authorization to activate Mobile Hotspot on a phone (although don't quote me) so if you activate it and it lets you tether, it may be the same old issue they had with the Thunderbolt. We even had some people in the Thunderbolt community that didn't upgrade their Froyo in hopes of keeping the free tether since it was rumored that the update killed the free mobile hotspot.

Just got this phone a few hours ago. LOVE IT. I love just about everything about it. But the 720p screen sealed it for me. It's... stunning. Battery life is the only thing that could get me down. Hopefully, it won't be too bad. My definition of "too bad" is not being able to finish a full-length HD movie on a single charge. I'll have to test it tonight and see. But to be quite honest, I like this phone so much, that even if it doesn't past my test, I might just carry an extra battery around, just for those few occasions when I'll need it.

Screen is off the chain. the sample vids look AMAZING!

lol^

And no, no warning at all though I never actually used it, just opened app, set password, etc...
Hey NightAngel... guess we're going to be seeing more of each other earlier than I planned. I ended up making the jump from the Incredible earlier than I had planned, due to: (1) finding out that VZW is lighting up 4G in my area on Thursday (unexpected, thought it wasn't going to be till next summer) and (2) finding out that I am in fact eligible for the 2 year renewal pricing now, instead of waiting till December 28 like I thought I had to.

So, without further ado... yes, my new HTC Rezound (I still think it's a stupid name) will be here tomorrow.

Yup, it sure does. That's the power of 720p res and 341 pixel density. At the verizon store, it mesmerized me into watching a music video from an artist I've never heard of, whose song I didn't care for... twice.

Don't lie! You know you watched it twice because you love you some Lady Gaga! :p
