Hopefully he is right. That date would coincide with this...

I almost forgot about this one. Damn.. you could be rigt. The 28th it could be. I can still live with that.

I don't understand anyone who wouldn't go that route if they are not planning on going with or are currently on verizon. The SGS2 is a superior phone. I am only going with the gnex because verizon screwed us over and passed on the SGS2. If you are worried about the SGS2 not having an LTE radio, the gnex on GSM wont have one either anyway. Not like it matters if you plan on sticking with AT&T since they won't have a decent LTE footprint until 2015.

Well if ics is an deal breaker like it is for me I would pass on both skyrocket and sgs2 since you won't see an official release for an couple of months

No I'm not like that. I only say what I know. Got of the phone with a VZW Ex. Whom is above me.
Maybe thats just the date for the hard release. It certainly lines up with the marketing roadmap that was leaked a while back. I'm still hoping for at least a "soft" (e.g. web only or non-advertised) release of Nov 17th. I'm crossing my fingers that we will hear something official tomorrow.

I only state facts. I don't like the "it might be this date" game.

Can you give us anymore details on what the person said?

I am very skeptical of all rumors, but when all you state is that you talked to some higher up at some company on the phone and don't provide any other details, that is highly suspicious.

Verizon's warranty change is do to these facts;

Most people that by a cell phone are clueless about them.
So with the release of the Nexus, it will give them people a chance to return it for something that they can understand better.

And there maybe people that do not like the idea of having soft buttons,
the Nexus will be a trial and error phone for the most part.

And if there is a bug or two, and you do not want to wait for the OS fix,
then you can give it back.

The new warranty is for the Nexus.

So with the ^^ above crazy talk I say we hear about the Nexus this week.:)

CellZealot TeamBlackHat
Nexus stability problems persist. Hope new builds improve dramatically...struggling to enjoy the truly amazing aspects of the phone.

This may give merit to my return policy theory.
Is it possible that the hold up is what to do about returns if there are problems..?.. Could be.

The Nexus is a beta phone , new hardware and software that the masses have not tried yet.

We the Masses will be the true testers.

Ahhh, STOP THE INSANITY! I think I'm going to leave the thread for a while. You all are great people but I can't take the rumors, speculations, conspiracies and general fantasy world that these posts exist in. I wish you all afond adieu. See you after a date has been officially announced.

I like the sound of that Phandroid rumor! I know that's all it is, but still.

SirLance99: any and all info you have would be greatly appreciated!

Look. I know how these forums are. I read them every day like you. When him and I talk to each other we don't talk about the mechanics of VZW, we talk like you guy's do here. We save business talk for conference calls and meetings.

We will miss having you around (although you will be stronger than many if you can truly stay away)

I think that would apply to all smartphones...seems like nothing is perfect out of the gates...except for the iPhone. :D (deathwish I know)

No we won't. Google released the ICS source code, which to me says it's final. I'm pretty sure the phone has been tested more than enough and I just don't see returns being an issue. Most of the people buying this phone on day one will be people who have no desire to return the phone. Plus the people who have no clue about phones will most likely let a VZW Rep show off the phone and help them figure stuff out.
