WTF - Now My Incredible is FINALLY getting Gingerbread!!!
Just called 3 different verizon stores here were the responses i got:
Q: Do you know an accurate release date for the Galaxy Nexus?
A: 1st Rep. said by the end of the year, 2nd Rep. said within a month, the 3rd Rep. said within this month. All three said these were all approximations and really don't have a clue....and that I would have information most likely the same time they would.
Q: Have you received any accessories in yet?
A: No, nothing. Accessories usually arrive between a week and half to 4 days before a launch. The RAZR accessories arrived 1 and half weeks before it launched and the Rezound stuff got here four days ago.
Q: Has a Samsung Rep come into your store for a product demo?
A: Two reps said nope but the third from (Palo Alto, CA) said a Google Engineer came in today and i got to play with the device a bit, working on Verizon. The engineer also said there were issues with connecting to Exchange Servers which could be one of the bugs the forums you are reading have been talking about. (I'm guessing he reads this thread).
NOTE: Now we know the "bugs" are legit...****in P3Droid was right.
Sorry couldn't get much info for you guys. At least the reps were very enthusiastic about the launch and plan to get the phones themselves. Maybe if we keep calling in they will bitch to their manager about not having info for us and then the manager will bitch to his regional manager etc..
Get both
Surely your husband has learned by now that you're always right and know whats right, eh?
I get the skepticism. I really do. It was a phone conversation. I don't record that stuff because we are friends and pass information to each other all the time. So I can't show you anything. Look. I'm a fan of this phone like you guy's. Big fan. I normally don't chim in on these things because most of the phones we sell are crap. But this is different as you all know. I would never say false information to get you guy's all in a frenzy. You do that well enough on your own. I'm just trying to share information that I normally don't because I care about you guy's.
Do you have unlimited data now?
Are there build issues in the Nexus line? What are those guys talkin bout. Reviews didn't mention poor quality.
It honestly doesn't make a huge difference to me if the phone is released the 17th, the 28th, or early December. What really irritates me about this release is VZW in ability to simply give a release date
I don't put much if any truth in the new rumors about problems with ICS... a Samsung VP (i think might have been a google person) was on GMA last week showing of the phone and said it was in VZW court to release.
VZW - just give us a release date and I will patiently wait, whether it be a few day or a couple weeks, for the phone to be released. In the meantime... your inability to effectively manage the release of a highly anticipated phone has me considering leaving VZW. I will not buy nor do I want one of your other phones. The longer you wait the more chance a different carrier will release a phone that will catch my eye.
End Rant... sorry but had to get that off my chest![]()
WTF - Now My Incredible is FINALLY getting Gingerbread!!!
Just think some of them still can not tie there own shoes. The only thing better than having the phone will be knowing which people were just a bunch of windbags posting nonsense.

And this is why I'm sick of Verizon controlling firmware updates:

Only like a year after it came out.
If this does end up getting delayed because of connectivity issues, I think that it is safe to say that VZW clearly has issues with their LTE. First TB, then Bionic, now possibly GN. All different manufacturers.
We'd have to see, now that Rezound and RAZR reviews are coming aplenty, if there are wide reports of such issues on those devices before a reliable pattern can be determined.
LOL! Good point. After all, I justified the purchase of my current Transformer by telling him that everyone always asked my opinions on tech toys, and if I don't have an android tablet I can't answer their questions about it.
I need the Gnex worse than I need the new tablet.
Again...Not about the LTE. It's the Exchange Servers that they are having trouble connecting to ICS. Not hardware.
I don't understand anyone who wouldn't go that route if they are not planning on going with or are currently on verizon. The SGS2 is a superior phone. I am only going with the gnex because verizon screwed us over and passed on the SGS2. If you are worried about the SGS2 not having an LTE radio, the gnex on GSM wont have one either anyway. Not like it matters if you plan on sticking with AT&T since they won't have a decent LTE footprint until 2015.
Great, the reason I am getting this phone is for mostly for work use. We use hosted Exchange.....Even if the phone is released early, hopefully this is fixed
Oi!

If this was the case, why would the source code just be released today?
I actually tested a RAZR today at lunch. It is a sweet device, and no doubt about it. The UI was fast, smooth and responsive. And Blur wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. The screen got a little warm but not too bad (I'm from Phx, so our definition of "hot" may note the same as the rest of ya...) The screen was quite nice. I have better than 20/20, and I couldn't notice any pixelation without really, really really straining.
In all seriousness, and much to my surprise, my only real gripe is that it seemed almost TOO thin. The width and height didn't bother me at all, and actually felt quite comfortable.
That could very well be my next device. And given VZW absolutely blowing this launch, the only thing that kept me from buying was that I wasn't blown away. It's an outstanding device, but just didn't below my doors off. I may still end up with it, but I now know that there's nothing out there that I have to have..
