I'm going to pick up my copy of Saint's Row 3 today and I'm going to stop by the Verizon store and talk to my guy there. I'll see if I can get anything out of him.
 
Another UK update, this time from CloveUK: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Availability Update Clove Technology’s Blog

In the world of smartphones, a device release date is not truly confirmed until stock actually begins shipping. This considered, we try to ensure that the information we provide is as accurate as possible by relaying the messages that we receive from manufacturers. This update regarding the availability of the Galaxy Nexus has come directly from Samsung, as have our previous updates and estimated arrival dates.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is still set to begin its launch on the 17th November. However, our first stock here at Clove is now expected on Wednesday 23rd November. This will be part of the first batch of SIM-FREE stock that is available in the UK. We cannot confirm at this stage whether or not other SIM-free retailers will receive their stock on the 23rd or at a later date.

The estimated arrival date of the 23rd November is still of course subject to change. We will keep you updated with any further changes to the situation regarding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and do our best to ship all orders at the earliest possible opportunity.

I think it just goes to show how little VZW cares about the Nexus. They can't bloat the hell out of it and Sammy/Google want complete control. I doubt it has anything to do with the heightened sense of interest.
 
Hi guys. I've been lurking for a while (not being productive at work ;-)) and decided to make an account. I'm switching from Sprint to Verizon for the GNex and it's going to be awesome. Thanks for all the updates and shenanigans in this thread. Looking forward to contributing.

Am I ever going to read, "BB" and not think Blackberry ever again??? I'm going with no which made me really wonder what the heck was going on and thought you were going to a blackberry store to look at the Rezound:confused::eek::rolleyes::p

I know the UK release doesn't have much to do, if anything, with the Verizon release but it does make me question if this is a Samsung issue and not vzw as we have been lead to believe...

i can personally attest to the success of effective and regular communication. so i totally agree with you guys. i'm looking for a sliver of hope in the midst of my never-ending wishful thinking/dreaming of this phone.

i don't like the lack of communication. but at least i can appreciate the business decision to make sure that it launches smoothly.

although i think we would like to think THEY ARE A FREEKING CELL-PHONE COMPANY... SHOULDN'T THEY KNOW HOW TO DO THIS WHOLE LAUNCH THING BY NOW?

You're probably going to be more happy with the Verizon service as compared to the Gnex. Don't get me wrong, the Gnex is worth getting but Verizon service is unmatched.....

You are going to have the best of both worlds.......Lucky

They wouldn't have purposefully passed on the GS2, signed a contract with Google/Samsung (fully knowing what a Nexus device is in the process btw), nor put the phone through testing if they didn't "care" about the Nexus. This has been stated by many, including this thread's own "sources"

In fact, the entire reason there is even an LTE version in existence is likely solely because of Verizon.

Don't get too caught up in the "Verizon doesn't care about the Nexus" speculation and conspiracy theories. If they didn't "care" about it, they wouldn't have agreed to carry it.

I thought the source was also claiming there was a feud between the three parties? I could definitely be wrong, I know it was several hundred pages back where I recalled? reading it.

Edit: Or was that P3? So many "sources"...

We haven't heard from the original Source (Steven's source) (AKA Love Tunnel) in some time since they confirmed they hadn't heard a change in the 17th date.

There is a pending PM to this source out from Steven now.
 
To restate one of CK's comments, and from what I have seen while waiting for the OG Droid, DInc, Bionic and the SGII to drop,

"The closer to the drop, the wilder it gets".

So I hope all the See-Saw, Yo-Yo stuff is just a part of the ride and is a near drop indicator. ;)

I have the same kind of near drop indicator after a couple cups of coffee and a smoke in the morning...fortunately for me, its not the usual disappointment we get from Verizon.
 
Hi everyone
Love sharing in the craziness with y'all. When I get my Galaxy Nexus in a few days, it will be my first Android phone. My question for you is- What apps are must-haves for most people? I like the idea of Swype or something like it. Are there other basics? Thanks:D
