FYI:
I've researched and found the corporate names and contact info. Maybe a few of you could contact some of them and ask for more information. I have written to Mari Walden, Vice President and Chief Marketing officer. Here is what I wrote her:

Ms. Walden,
I'm writing to you to find out when you intend to announce and release the Galaxy Nexus. As I'm an sure you are aware, this device is generating a lot of excitement among your client base. While the average Joe may not know it's coming, those of us in the technology sector are EXTREMELY excited about it. I am well aware of the Droid Razr by Motorola and HTC Rezound, however, as a customer I am truly excited about being part of the true Google Experience that a Nexus device brings. Please take a quick look a just ONE thread regarding this phone:

There are more than 26,800 posts about this phone and over a half of million hits speculating about it. I know that marketing this phone in it's proper time is important, but a little bit of information will go a long way.

This is what I sent:

Ms. Walden,

First and foremost, I am a long time and very satisfied customer of Verizon Wireless, I am writing this out of a tiny bit of frustration though. I have been patiently, but anxiously awaiting the release of a top-tier Samsung phone on Verizon

both extremely frustrating for us Android and NBA fans.

An NBA player rented the house next door to me (well, attached to mine, as they're townhouses) because of the strike. I'm a little worried that if the strike ends, he'll just let friends stay there and party every day. Please go on strike, please go on.

Sorry for the off topic comment.

Well at least we are one day closer. While it would be fun to mess with a RAZR or Rezound for a little bit, I would feel bad about abandoning my DInc which has provided me with exceptional service and performance in my time with it. So I will wait patiently.
In the meantime, time to hit up The Noodle with little mama and get in on some live music and beers :-) Cheers all, tomorrow is gonna be a great day!

Soooo....

We passed FCC and now there is talk of a delay - ANOTHER ONE - into December?

And now some of us have hatched a grand plan to buy a RAZR/ReZound and hold onto it until Nexus comes out, paying only the $35 restocking fee to switch phones.

BUT....

What happens if Verizon has a grand plan of its own?

What if there's yet ANOTHER delay and Nexus isn't released until 1/16/12... the day AFTER the return policy expires?

Folks, I would go into this return plan with great trepidity. I personally would love to bite, but I will NOT risk owning a ReZound for the next 2 years, when I can limp along on my OG Droid until it's released. It's a gamble I'm simply not willing to take.

I can't agree with you enough here, Chief. I know it's hard waiting and I don't have an OG Droid on life support, but I don't understand the "buy and return" philosophy.

Not that I think there's anything any of us can do to convince VZW to release GNex soonor rather than later, but I would rather put the pressure on them by NOT purchasing one of these devices and contribute to falsely inflating their sales figures. There's a reason they "temporarily" modified their return policy. I won't pretend to understand the internal business decisions at VZW but I just can't help but wonder if those that opt for the "buy and return" aren't playing into their hand.

I'm waiting for the Galaxy Nexus.

Am I the only woman on here who feels sorry for those wives who get their husbands' hand-me-down phones? (I'm not sure I got that right grammatically - if one woman gets multiple phones from her multiple husbands, that might not be so bad - except for the multiple husband part.)

my wife got the new iP4s, and i got her old DInc, even tho my OG was up for renewal first. (altho, in fairness, i was waiting for the GNex and RAZR anyway - but don't tell her that! ;))

well I gave up, and ordered the HTC REZ., and its suppose to be here tomorrow, I actually chatted with a sales rep online when I was doing my order, and got another 50.00 off, I asked him about the nov 15-dec 28th return policy and he told me it does only has the 14 day return policy from the day of activation and I did order it today on the 15th go figure:rolleyes:

Pandas latest: Been running all day.. When I said nexus launch I meant worldwide.. Not sure what all the furor is about. USA is coming soon.. Chill :-)

Im not sure which previous tweet of his he is referring to but either way, this sounds good to me...

That's it I'm going to start waiting for the HTC Zeta :P
HTC Zeta Could be a 2.5GHz Quad-core Monster with Android 4.0

For some reason, I envision the scene from Jerry Maguire where Tom Cruise is looking all insane saying "who's comin' with me?" hahah

Sent my own emails in - just copy and pasted but changed the # of posts to over 30,000. Got a voicemail and text message with a call back number within 2 hours - nothing interesting, though. The guy said he was from the Executive Office but didn't know about the Nexus sign up page on Verizon's site.

He's incorrect. Just call any local store they will verify it.

We've all worked through this together very well keep it up the finish line right there I see it ;)

For those who couldn't wait congratulations on your new phones there are some great choices!

Yes i know reps dont typically know much about releases and such, but i did go into my store today. I went in to show my mom which phones she might like when she decides to upgrade, since this will be her first smartphone.
Anyways a salesperson asked us if we'd been helped and we ended up talking about the nexus. He said that it was supposed to be a black friday deal but that his district manager had said they were expecting to sell it before then.
So lets hope for that lol.

No need to say they dont know anymore than us etc. im just telling you what i was told today.
