On another note I've seen some arguing in the comments section of some reviews about the Google Voice Recognition vs. Siri on the iPhone. I don't know enough about it to really know who's right or even have an opinion, but some people are getting all butt hurt over it. Haha I saw one review where an iPhone vs Galaxy Nexus bitching match got going and one guy said the original poster probably had Apple logos on his bed sheets. That gave me a giggle. :D

My daughter just got an iphone4s. She goes to UGA, iphones are "cool" there, plus she is a macbook pro person, so I got her what she wanted.

I must say, Siri is pretty cool. She says funny things when you ask her stuff like "Siri, what are you wearing?" It does seem pretty responsive and intuitive. And, really delivers relevant answers to "normal" questions and requests, not just a search result.

I asked my droid some questions in natural voice and it always comes up with a relevant search result, at least.

Siri certainly isnt enough for me to skip the nexus, though.
 
I have off all next week so it leave plenty of time to visit a local Verizon store (if it does not go live online beforehand), and plenty of time to play with it after :)
 
Hi everyone. I started reading what I missed and got to about 5:30pm, and just couldn't do it anymore.

So as far as I can tell, there is a possible pre-order period opening up tomorrow?
 
Quick question: Given that battery life is a bit unknown, and it might be a good idea to tote a spare battery from time to time--does it matter if I shut down the phone to swap the battery, as opposed to just pulling the battery from a booted up, running phone?

FWIW< I have had to pull the battery from my OG Droid running CM7 numerous times, when it is locked up. How would I do this with a Razor? lol.

Seriously--will I need to wait for shut down, or is it OK to pull the battery from a booted, running GNex?

One thing I will give Samsung is that they make some of the best cameras out there. I'd be willing to bet that the Gnex 5mp is at least as good as the 8mp in my brand new Rezound (which takes awesome pics btw)
 
Based on network quality and phone functionality, given the choice (and ignoring timing), would you go with the LTE version on contract with Verizon or unlocked GSM on AT&T?

International travel is not a factor. Primarily spend my time in the northeast.

Anyway, seriously, the 21st is looking more solid every minute and some stores are even suggesting a preorder period starting tomorrow or Saturday.
Also, most importantly, apparently everyone here is from Toledo or a neighboring town :p
