I was thinking about getting the Kindle fire, but honestly, 4.65" vs 7" isn't that big of a deal (don't you dare innuendo that). I need a 10" tablet if anything...

If Verizon doesn't follow suit, time to learn the canadian anthem.

O Canada!
Our home and unencrypted bootloader!
True Galaxy Nexus in all thy sons (and daughter's) hands.
With glowing screens we see thee ice cream sandwiches,
The True Google Experience unbloated and free!
From far and wide,
O Canadian Nexus, we come for thee.
God keep our nexus glorious and open sourced!
O Canadian Nexus, we beam for thee.
O Canadian Nexus, we give Verizon the finger for thee.

(apologies to any Canadians this butchering of their national anthem might offend)

Long time lurker here to join the crazy farm!

I've been following this thread pretty much since the GNex was announced last month. My productivity at work has taken a serious nose dive since then because I've been following you guys so close. I figured that if actually participated, I would be out of a job by now!

Either way, this thread has been a great source of fun/entertainment/frustration/angst and decided that I couldn't miss out in helping make this the most legendary thread ever! I'll do what I can to contribute.

BTW, I'm coming from a rooted Droid Eris that is lucky to still be alive considering how many times I've wanted to throw it against the wall. The Gnex WILL be mine on launch day!

Well I just emailed the VP again and told him that the phone he sent me is useless (not able to be activated) and that I was just going to have to go to a Verizon store and buy an HTC device with the full intention of returning it once the Galaxy Nexus comes out.

We'll see what he writes back, or if he calls. But on Monday, if there is no release or pre-order period, I'm going to go ahead and do it. And I'll be putting the screen to the scratch test to see what's what.

Damn Verizon.

Hi, all,
I have been following the news here about the Nexus since perhaps August? I'm an indie game dev planning to get a Nexus because, well, it is a dev phone. I'm coming from an all-Apple shop so I am excited to learn what Android has to offer.

It has been super fun seeing so much personality come through in the posts on this thread. The hope and eagerness make me smile. :)

Another long time lurker, first time poster. The guilt got to me.

I'm in the Baltimore area, and am going to head to a couple corporate stores after work to see if I can get any intel, under the guise of checking out the Rezound...

I just spoke to a rep at our local Verizon store. Which was a corporate store 2 months ago but it is a retailer now. She said all of the employees have had training on the phone. And she said they are supposed to have it in stores the 21. Shipments to arrive Sunday or early Monday. She said they have no accessories for the Nexus or anything promotional. Then she said that they don't even have accessories for Razr yet. She is gonna give me a heads up call on Sunday if they receive anything. I didn't know they received shipments on Sunday but she said they did. Now who knows if this will pan out, not holding my breath but you guys will be the first to know if I get a call on Sunday!!

Huge grain of salt needed.

If I was on att or T mobile, that's what I would have done. My only hesitation is the 16GB..

Ya ive been on 16 gb iphones for 3 years and have never had an issue. So this wont impact me too much. Especially with google music. Ive been using it on my touchpad and its awesome ! I figure I may put new cds that I buy on the device and have the rest synced up to google music. Some apps of course. But generally I dont go under 6 GB remaining on my 16 GB iphone. And thats with 400 Photos. Which of course will now go to g+ autostream.

I just hope I get it sometime this year lol.

Welcome mtnman34! I started with the Eris just heard a semi working build of ICS has been ported amazing the dev team is still pumping it out over there!

And thus ends the love affair between Han and Verizon.

Did you have a google checkout account? if not that may be why you didn't get the announcement!

Hope this helped! :)

I do - at least I thought I did. It's how I buy market apps.

Alright guys, you guilted me into posting. How could I not be part of the most legendary thread about the most legendary phone?!

LONG time lurker, I think since the 300 pages but just made an account the other day. To add to the speculation, I stopped by a corporate store to talk to an employee. I brought up the nexus and he went to his manager to ask if he could say anything and she said no! So they definitely know something...

Welcome!!!!

Is it standard practice for Verizon stores to force you into buying accessories on launch day? I've had this happen a couple of times and it's quite annoying.

Yes - they make more money that way

Welcome to you too aabye good luck playing sleuth!

This thread at least have the record for total number of independent posters with all the lurkers coming in to post yet??

FYI, I called my local Verizon store here in Houston where I bought my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and where an employee there has been extremely cool to work with. He asked two of his managers and a Samsung rep, and none of them knew when it was going to come out. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm just worried the Double Your Data promotion will be over by the time they release it. I really need that promotion to justify switching from AT&T. Anyone know when it's ending?

I am in the exact same boat, on unlimited AT&T and ready to make the jump and the 4GB is not great, but at least makes it bearable. I have heard rumors of 11/30 the double data ending, which would probably put the Nexus launch as 12/1 which lines up with verizon's thursday launches.

If Verizon doesnt launch the nexus by the 30th I will be getting a rental Razr to lock in the 4gb data and returning for the nexus as soon as its out.

Welcome! Thanks, we have a lot of operatives searching for this phone, and looking at the Rezound is good cover. But be very careful, because a few of us have been compromised by its screen and feel.
