***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I don't know folks, that image looks pretty legit to me. Considering we're talking about VZW here, there's no reason to believe they WOULDN'T release on the 8th. Lets face it, they've been dragging their feet this whole time-- making numerous internal references to a wide range of dates. Right now, I wouldn't be surprised if this leak is found out to be true. But, considering what I said above, this could be an old internal document. And since then they've decided to release earlier. We don't know beyond a reasonable doubt what their intentions are.

I'm still hoping for some official news next week. Early next week. But I am beginning to lose hope that there's a launch immediately around the corner.

If what Phil says is true, and it is a VZW app causing the delay, I will never be more furious with Verizon. Not only are they delaying it for bloatware, but guaranteed Samsung and Google are going to be furious with them. We will never again see a Nexus phone on Verizon.

Guess it may be time to edit the first post to remove the "coming the week of 11/21" :(

Nah, we also have a VZW store employee on these forums who said he has to go in Sunday night to set up promo materials for SGN. I'm still betting next week is on.

Something that is bugging me about this whole "adding a Verizon app before final release" doesn't make sense either. Are they really going to hold these things in their warehouse, unbox them, load the software and box them back up?

Any software that is on there is on there before it leaves the Samsung facility.

I don't know anything about Verizon's process, but that just makes sense to me. The only way I'm finding myself around that line of logic is if Verizon is actually packing the phones into boxes on their own.

ARGH. These "software" problems are probably VZW trying to force google to put more crapware on there.

Sigh...this is such a total failure on VZW's side. They have done a bang up job of botching this release.

What? Most people have no idea that there is a new phone about to drop ( read: non-geeks who don't sit at a computer and F5 a cell phone forum all day ). Please keep in mind that the things we know about this phone from reading this forum is way more than most. Just because you know this phone is soon to release doesn't mean that everyone has even heard of it.

Just in case you haven't looked yet... Dec 8 is a Thursday and it gives the RAZR a full month to sell. Sounds very likely, considering Phil's last post (and P3 and what everyone else is hearing). Man I was hoping P3 would be wrong!!!

To be fair, he said to setup up promo materials, but didn't know what for.

I've made it to page 744...

I was pages and pages behind because of an hour long commute home from work. Now, I have to make myself go work out. Hopefully I'll get fully caught up afterwards.

I was thinking, lots of people are nervous about this thread closing when everyone gets their phone. What if we all play dumb like we never got them and just keep on raising hell here as if nothing has changed. Might confuse the mods enough to buy us another day or two to increase post count. :D

You think holding up a release to fix their crapware issues on the phone ISN'T a botched release? I know we are danging our own carrots here, but it's still been managed poorly.

No, they are probably going to wait for an OTA update before approving the device for sale. Problem with one of the bloatware apps breaking probably turned up in testing more than likely (which they reportedly were doing at this point).

So they hold it back till "everything is ready" and a software update is ready to be pushed out on release day. I think it's rather common.

C'mon guy's it is all BS. VZW can no longer blame the hardware or the OS. They can't just say we want to sell more RAZR's first... so they site "software" (aka bloatware) problems. Had to expect this. 3 more weeks until we hear about the next reason to delay.

My question if vzw is going to put bloatware on the gn. How long after the official source is dropped will the gn get the update. Wouldn't they have to reinsert the bloat?

No way are they delaying this over software issues.

They would have to open every box, fire up every Nexus, and update each one of... how many? Hundreds of thousands? Millions?

Any hiccup can be fixed upon activation with an OTA.

RELEASE THE PHONE, VERIZON!

^This. These units have been manufactured, boxed and shipped by now. They are in warehouses and most likely in stores. The only way any software issue gets worked out now is OTA. You are talking MAJOR RECALL and MAJOR DELAYS if there is a need for them to fix it without OTA. This device either comes as it is now or it does not make the December 31st deadline VZW set for themself. I say bull.
