***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I don't understand how anything I mentioned contradicts that??? You're looking at this from your own stand point. I was merely pointing out that you may want to consider looking at this from their perspective. In their eyes, they DO have plenty of options for us to choose from. And lets be frank- we do. But we're missing one big one: Pure GOOGLE ANDROID EXPERIENCE. That is the point I am making, and the point I feel that should be the focus of any targeted community email to Verizon.

TBH I don't think Verizon will give a single f**k about the "Pure Google Experience"... I hate to break it to you but they would rather slap a ton of bloatware on it and make a killing than have satisfied customers, it seems.
Anyways, I'm not gonna include that in the email because, like I said, they could care less about it.

I can't believe Google would allow that. They have been telling us all along, since OCtober 18th, that the phone will have a 16 and 32Gb version. At this point - I am just praying for a release date

I've been watching and posting throughout the past week or so. I've also been working on the wife to let me get the SGN when it comes out. She has been pretty steadfast recently about not letting me get a new phone for at least a few more months.

Yesterday we started talking again and it seems that somehow her env2 has come to my side and recently started to reboot on her prompting her to think about getting a new phone.

I told her maybe she should get the SGN with me and we could beam together. Instead of her usual shootdown her reply was that my phone wasn't even out yet. So...Progress!

She also gave me a dirty look when I mentioned that we could beam together. She probably thought my mind was in the gutter as it most often times is :)

Btw, thanks for those xtranormal movies. Those brought a smile to my day when I had to work this morning.

Hahaha I'm done having this conversation- we're apparently not participating in the same one hahaha.

They know most of us won't go to another carrier now that Verizon and at&t ditched unlimited plans unless you're grandfathered in, so that's the new way they get loyalty from their customers. Ill get this phone the day i can, whenever that may be. Something official would be nice.

My contract with VZW ends on December 5. If the GNEX is not out by the December 8, I'll be switching to AT&T for the SGS2.

Yep, I have unlimited data on VZW now, but typically use less than 1GB data per month over 3G.

I don't want either the RAZR or Rezound.

On the other hand - maybe one of the other carriers will get the 32Gb version. Wow! That would just be a total slap in the face from Verizon. I'm hoping that does not happen.

No, it's not for me. There is nothing on the page (or their receipt) that does not state stipulations. My example above **could** prove to be valid. The wording says that you can **purchase** the phone and return it by x date. However, it does not mention anything about activating the phone. As such, a rep can easily say "That was for holiday gifts. The 14 day policy still stands if you activated your phone". Unless there is specific wording given by VZW, I don't trust it.

That said, I'm sure anyone could push the wording with Verizon and get them to honor the 1/15 deadline (even after activating). It's just not worth the time or effort it would take to make it happen if denied initially. I'd rather just wait a few weeks and grab the Gnex. Now, if someone had documentation that VZW would take back an ACTIVATED phone and let you change to a different phone until 1/15, then I would go get a Rezound. This has not happened yet, so neither you nor I can state emphatically that this is the case.

You're welcome

So is he saying they're gonna have 16gb model & charge $299????

As much as I appreciate Panda, he is also clearly ticked at VZ right now (based on his earlier tweet), and so I would not take that latest tweet (that VZ would still charge $299 for the 16GB model) as gospel.

Wish at times my bosses acted like Jobs..

I hate to say it but I pretty much agree. Jobs at least had a backbone when it came to these things and at least it got things done.

I think Panda is just venting....he's frustrated like we all are.

But he has every right too. He and his company produce an amazing product with no problems (ask the rest of the world). Verizon has to keep pushing the release farther away and add their useless apps. I'd be furious if I were Google and Samsung.

Sgs2 is also on 3g, I wouldn't want to be on a 2 year with the old tech. Their lte network and my grandfathered unlimited means they got me by the.... marbles

The letter you are not going to get.

Dear Mr. Greene,

Do you have any idea the capital investment required to introduce a new phone to our customers? Do you really think that we would in any way jeopardize our business plan to satisfy the wants of some forum geeks who crave a new phone. The fact is, your forum is creating even more hype and interest in our new offerings and the longer this goes on, the better our introductory sales are going to be. As for customers "renting" our new Razr and Rezound, who cares? These people are still signing contracts to use our wireless service and this my friend is what our business is really all about. Our agreements with cell phone manufacturers place this "renting" cost squarely on their backs and not ours. As long as we do not introduce the Nexus within 14 days (return period) of the "renting" of said phones, our "renters" are now obilgated to our service for the next two years. As we are fully aware of when these "rentals" initiated, we are now planning the calculated introduction date of the Nexus to coincide with the capture of these "renters" after their 14 day return period. Furthermore, we have a few "glitches" with the LTE version of the Nexus, and we can't really come out and say that now can we? Now to fully cut to the chase, we at Verizon are completely aware that we provide the best cellular service in America and that anyone who actually compares our offerings with another provider would be a fool to choose another service provider. In short," where do you think you are going?". You have fun on your little forum, and we will continue to kick ass and take names here in our little part of the world. Relax, it will be out soon enough.

Best wishes,
VZW

Did Verizon not have to guarantee a release date to carry this thing? Why would Google let them just sit on it?

In the end, I can complain all I want and threaten to leave, but Verizon reigns supreme in my area. I'll still be getting a Nexus at launch, even if I pay $299 for only 16GB.

I hate to say it but I pretty much agree. Jobs at least had a backbone when it came to these things and at least it got things done.

I agree... Jobs would have never let Verizon delay a launch (if it truly is delayed) or add anything toa device that he did not want there in the first place.

Guys I don't know if you've sent out that email but there are a few edits I could suggest. Give me a few minutes? Coffee is just starting to kick in.

I agree with Han. No specific suggestions, but to be honest it sounds like a temper tantrum.
