It seemed like a rumored end date. I read some articles from November 8th that indicated that the promotion would last "through the holidays", which would seem to indicate to the New Year. But who knows when trying to parse Verizon-speak. I would like to know as well because if it is ending soon then I need to get in on the rent a Razr/Rezound "program" to get the double data plan and then return the R phone for a GNEX.

I agree that these few issues have gotten way too much press, but what is the one way to show that these problems are wayyy over exaggerated? IMO the proper response would be to make these phones more available so people would realize there really isn't a problem. The alternative is to hold the phones back and "admit" there is a problem which would be worse for publicity. In this case there is NO problem and they need to prove it. I don't believe the whole glitches thing, the Iphone 4 had the huge antenna issue and they were being pushed like hotcakes.
 
Looking at Amazon...

You can get the Rezound there for $199.99. Wonder if, when the GN is released, you'll be able to get it for a $100 discount there as well?

I don't know, just thought that was interesting that there is that much of a gap.

I cant upgrade until dec 8th so I'm hoping it at least goes until then

Maybe there's some truth to this Verizon delay due to "testing issues"

There's been a lot of negative press following the initial UK launch, like complants about the SAV (Self Aware Volume) bug, Flash, the guy who got the developer build, etc.
My first thought was, oh, it's a Nexus device, what else do you expect?

But then I realized, is that what any of us wanted? I, for one, really want to see the GN go mainstream, and give the iPhone some serious competition. I really want the Galaxy Nexus to become a household name like the iPhone.
Is that possible with a glitchy phone? Average consumers expect polish and flawlessness, and that's why the iPhone is so successful.

So, whether intentional or not, Verizon's given Google some extra time to roll out bug fixes before mass release in the US. I think the extra week's wait is worth it.
I really don't want to be disappointed with the phone. So maybe a delay wouldn't be all that bad if Google (and Verizon, re: the VZ apps) worked hard to make sure that upon release, the phone would be as perfect as possible.

Remember back in the summer when there were reports that ICS had been rescheduled from a December release to an October/November release to compete with the iPhone? I'm sure, in part, has led to this delay.

Don't get me wrong, I detest Verizon's lack of communication as much as the next Gnexer, but I'm all for giving them a little more time to make this the best phone in the world. :)

I agree with you. I'm going to be more upset if it's just to add VZW apps. I am really concerned VZW will find a way to control the software updates. Panda tweeted that thanks to Verizon this is no longer a Nexus device. That tweet has me way more concerned than all the delays. :(

He only meant the carrier apps. It is still a Nexus, updates come directly from Google.

Yeah lets hope that's going to be true. If these really have those added apps there is a very good chance that Verizon will have something to do with the updates.
 
I was last on here and posted at page 775 and it is now 799.


Can someone fill me in on what is going on, please?
