Help SD Card Problem - revisited!

Blessing

Newbie
Yes, I have read through the forum for similar forums and I have followed their advice but I am still having no success.

My SD card unexpectedly became damaged, according to my phone, and I am unable to read any files/pictures that are stored in it. I am unable to access it via my USB drive but am able to open the files on my computer using the microSD adapter.

However when I try to copy the files on my SD card onto my computer, I get stuck - the files are so HUGE that they freeze the computer. Are these zip files? Am I supposed to do something to the them before I simply copy and paste?

I don't understand why I am having this problem and for everyone else, the transfer appears to occur seamlesly.

All I want to do is tranfer the files onlt my computer, reformat the old SD card or if I can't, get a new one and transfer the files back onto the SD card and move on.

Please help

do you know which file are giving you the trouble? try and transfer them one by one.

Like Ocn said try to transfer 1x1 I know this is time consuming however its more guaranteed that you can get most of them back. You can use a program like teskdisk. However if you unsure of what your doing then the 1x1 suggestion is your best bet. The photorec program is also a good one for recovery. (from same developer) These are very powerful programs.

after recovery has finished exit the program but if possible leave the dos window open and type:
chkdsk x: /f /r
Replace x with the drive letter of your SDCARD
If windows reports bad spots no need to bother formating just replace card.
