***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

My concern is this.... If there is a bug that needs to be fixed, how will this be handled with the Verizon nexus? Will it come straight from Google, or will Google have to hand it off to Verizon to then add and test their crapware on it? I am really getting concerned that this phone will not be a true nexus device.

Maybe the smart engineers over at Verizon think this is occurring because it has TOO MUCH internal memory..... so they removed the other 16gb, LOL

Even better, you walk into a store...

"I want the latest and greatest Android phone and I'm VERY interested in the Galaxy Nexus! Can you tell me about it?"

"Sure, it's Android 4.0 with a dual core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage..."

"Wait, I thought it was 32gb internal storage?? I really wanted more storage."

"Well then, can I show you the iPhone 4s 32gb model?"

*Facepalm*

Does anyone else get a pain in their stomach when they open up this website first thing in the morning and see the Nexus ad on the left: "Stop waiting and start exploring."

Ugh, insult to injury ahaha

Well, in case some people missed it late last night, this news story claims that their source says that the Nexus is still on schedule to be released in November. That's why I say that we are within a week of ordering our new phones:

Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Verizon release date on December 8? | Mobile Technology News at PopHerald.com

I don't wanna be a doggie downwer, but, really? More rumors from sources that don't want to be identified?

Looks like a solid, definitive, maybe or maybe not...

Our own source who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to talk about the device, the Galaxy Nexus will arrive in US this month, because it is

When I went into the store last night to get the accessories(posted on page 801), the rep told me that theyve had the stuff "for about a week" and usually a week goes by between receiving acc and getting a release date for a phone.. He felt pretty confident that we should hear something this week

I never see the ads here. I almost forgot they even put them here. With AdBlock Plus and Greasemonkey those things seem to disappear everywhere including Gmail.

Yes sir I posted that last night. Hans said the pop herald was the original and first to leak the Nexus existence.

Just to clarify, they were the first to leak the fact that Verizon would announce that they were carrying it.

Remember that Friday when everyone was bombing Verizon with tweets and emails? And the announcement came out from Verizon at like 5:30 or something? Well Popherald posted an article at 5pm saying that Verizon had now "confirmed" it was carrying it. There were a bunch of comments and tweets about it, and moaning about how Popherald wasn't citing a source and were just blowing smoke up everyone's butts. And then a half hour later the Verizon announcement appeared.

Here's the article: Galaxy Nexus Verizon (Nexus Prime) release date confirmed

(Yes, their headline was totally bogus and misleading, and they got a lot of flak for that. But ultimately, their Verizon announcement was correct.)

So I give them a good deal of credibility since then.

Hi all. I had been holding out hope for a release tomorrow, and I signed up at the Verizon and Google sites for notifications. On another forum it was agreed that historically notifications from Verizon have always gone out 24 hours before preorder or order availability, and I've seen no such notification. So I think we can (sadly) lay the 21st to rest as a likely launch date.

And they're now saying Dec. 8th?

No. They're only saying that other people are spreading that rumor. They're saying that Popherald's own source is still indicating November.

Those notifications are useless. I signed up for RAZR and the HTC device, and I got the notification of the RAZR on the same day it started selling, and I still haven't gotten one for HTC.

The ad blocker I was using was conflicting with a couple more useful chrome extensions. I have no problem taking in some ads until its fixed up.

Is anyone else having really weird rendering problems of this site?

Yes.

good morning minions of the Nexus. any updates through out the night?

That made me laugh. And no.

Okay, all caught up. No change from yesterday afternoon. Going to get ready to fly today... my buddy fixed his little parachute guy and one of the planes I have is capable of carrying him, so I have to bring that one today. I also want to put a test-flight on my Blackhawk. Then it's home for a quick dinner and watching the Giants/Eagles game tonight at 8:30. I'm so nervous... the Eagles are in a sad state right now but this is also the time of year the Giants start their annual decline. Go Giants!

See youse later this evening, fellow GNexers!

I'm highly intrigued by the fact that you fly. That is all.
No, wait - be careful.
Now that is all.

You realize you are taking money out of AndroidForums' pocket by using an ad blocker?

They provide a free service to you. The only way they fund this is through ad impressions. When you use ad blockers, you are essentially stealing because you aren't paying for your own bandwidth/data/etc.

I plead this on my own forum, too. Ad blockers are great, but if you like a site and get use out of it, UNBLOCK THE ADS. That's how the site pays for its bandwidth, servers, and the few people who are getting paid to dedicate a lot of time to development, testing and maintenance.

I really think the best bet is to wait for big red to tell us.... just sayin
