Some in here seem to share this mindset with Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes:

I think life should be more like tv. I think all of life's problems ought to be solved in 30 minutes with simple homilies, don't you? I think weight and oral hygiene ought to be our biggest concerns. I think we should all have powerful, high-paying jobs, and everyone should drive fancy sports cars. All our desires should be instantly gratified. Women should always wear tight clothes, and men should carry powerful handguns. Life overall should be more glamorous, thrill-packed, and filled with applause, don't you think?

Their GPS is notoriously bad and has been commented on in many reviews. On my Charge it would take forever to lock on. Then there's the 4G connectivity issues with the Charge and the lousy Samsung 4G radio. My current Bionic absolutely runs circles around what my Charge could do with a 4G signal.

Look at any Charge forum to see how bad the Samsung hardware can be.

I've read a lot of things about GPS problems with Samsung devices, but I've never seen it with my own eyes. I have a Fascinate, both parents have Captivates, worked with 4 people that had Vibrants and multiple people here and in real life with the Fascinate. I have two cousins, two aunts, one uncle and 8 friends that have the Charge. None of them have ever given me any indication that GPS is a problem. Maybe a few didn't use it, but that is still over 30 different Samsung products with no GPS issues. The only time I've ever run into a problem with my phone's hardware was when I had a custom ROM on it. Then the GPS would quit in the middle of a trip. Most of the GPS issues have been software related too. I remember that Froyo fixed the GPS for a lot of people, so I don't think that can really be blamed on hardware.

The 4g for the Charge was/is first generation hardware for Samsung (and everyone else) so I can imagine that problems would come up. I've read a bunch of negatives about 4G radios on the Thunderbolt too. If I remember correctly the LTE radios in those devices aren't Samsung's anyway. Your Bionic uses a completely different LTE radio than any of the previous devices did. That would be a big reason behind the differences you see. You are talking first generation hardware vs a custom built radio by Motorola. Not really the same thing.

It is all personal opinion and taste many times. If you have good luck with phone A and bad luck with phone B then you tend to view company A as great and B as bad. You could have received a faulty phone or lucked out to get a great phone with the other one. My girlfriend hated her Eris. My Eris worked flawlessly and still does while we had to replace her's three different times. She thinks that HTC only makes garbage and I think they make some great stuff. My experience with Samsung is kind of similar. The hardware for mine has been great, but the software has been horrible.

In the end, we will all see how the phone does and how well it works. If it doesn't perform the way it should or has really bad hardware then I can't imagine we will see another Samsung Nexus device. Google obviously didn't have a problem with what Samsung did on the last Nexus or they wouldn't be working with Samsung on this one. I'll hold my judgement until I've had the phone for a little while.

The more I read the reviews on this over at XDA, the more I think I should just go for the Rezound or even the RAZR. This "Media Device" bull is exactly why I don't/won't own an Iphone, and if the Nexus behaves even remotely the same, I'll be returning it the day I get it. Guess it's just one of those things I'll have to wait and see :/

Exactly. I'll make my own determination once I have Nexi in hand. You can't believe everything you hear and read. Wait - did I just say that after all the dates we have hung our hats on since 11/17. Oh well ;)

My reliable source just called from the store; he said he just received a notification via email that a shipment of 50 GNexi are headed his way!
YES! I'm going to pick one up whenever the truck arrives ;)

I have been LOLing to myself over here about all of your positivity amongst the rest of our's negative feelings. If you turn out to be correct in your thinking, I would gloat like crazy over the rest of us haha.

Guys I swear to god this just happened. I, more than anyone, HATE people who say stuff jokingly on the internet (where you can't tell).

But yeah he was pretty excited about it too, I can tell he will be willing to sell me one if he gets a shipment in before he's authorized to begin sales ;D
