***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Ok well, I hope he's right because apparently I will be sans internet during my move over the holiday from Tuesday till Friday! The radio on the Charge isn't powerful enough to get me good reception for calls let alone 4g - so the Gnex is my only hope!

I needed to get in on the Star Wars references! ;)

Some members seem to be discrediting everything positive that's posted without backing their accusations. If you can't prove that the provider of resourceful and optimistic information is completely false then maybe you should keep those negative attitudes to yourself.

The burden of credibility rests with the person posting the information. It is not up to others to disprove posted information, it is up to the poster to demonstrate that his or her information is reliable.

I would love for this to true and I'm not saying it's not, but if I have to play devil's advocate here, he said the manager was worried that he even told him, but he's not worried about selling it to him early?

OK here's a scenario...what if somebody on this board gets real concrete info about the launch but is hesitant to share for fear of rejection by the naysayers. All I'm simply implying is take what you hear with a grain of salt but don't attack just because you choose to not believe.
Not here to argue with you or anything, but no one is attacking him. He has in the past posted info that he claimed was concrete. Debating his info isn't attacking him. I for one, a natural pessimist who still is holding onto a release of this week, believe if its true we'll get supporting claims/documents/whatever and I will be as happy as anyone on this forum. With all the ups and downs we shouldn't just get up and start dancing our happy dances yet.

OK people...I think EarlyMon is right. It is time to move on. I was the first one to jump on Scott after that link to Reddit was posted - and I was wrong. He may very well have received info from a store manager he knows, and just exaggerated about the "sell to him early" part. People's enthusiasm and negativity does get the best of them sometimes. It happens to all of us.

I do apologize for my earlier comment. Mea culpa...mea culpa

Keep in mind that the GNex has been reported to have brand new GPS hardware... So the historical problems with the Samsung GPS might be moot. ::crossing fingers:: :D

Fwiw when I checked out galaxy s2 and the skyrocket for att in the store gps was still slow to lock compared to vivid and atrix so I am not sure what the deal is

So just a question. The RAZR and Rezound are out and have been evaluated. The Gnex is the last phone (I am aware of) on the horizon that is more than speculation at this point. If for some reason the Gnex disappoints to some extent (quite realistic given the hype in here), then what next? Do you settle for your choice of one of the 3? Do you change carriers? And for what phone? Or do you wait another 6-8 months for whatever it is that might come out that more than likely will entail the same timeline ambiguity issues as the Gnex? Or (bracing for rotten tomatoes) do you buy a piece of fruit?

Has anything come from this forum? Seems like the more solid stuff comes from other sources and is just compiled/shared here.

Exactly. Some people on here want us to believe their "sources" will lead us to the promise land and some wait with baited breath to hear what they have to say. Unfortunately they've been proved wrong at every turn. I'm not buying anything from these "sources" anymore. These sources know as much as we do, which is nothing. When Verizon makes an announcement THEN I'll get excited.

I'm not sure what you mean, no sarcasm or anything negative.

All info on the internet, anywhere, anytime, is almost always a compilation of secondary and tertiary sources. (With exception of actual users (pro or regular) posting their hands-on impressions, I think.)

Even our favorite insider is being compiled and shared by Steven, yes?

I stand by my previous quotes that it's in the fossil record that just as much, if not more, info comes from Android Forums as any other sources.

Pretty cool crowd here. :)

Anyway - if I'm off-base, it's because I openly admitted that I was unclear on your meaning there.

Smithers!... release the hounds

Literally LOL'd!

Well, let's be fair. Like someone else said earlier in the thread, the information passed along by sources was probably correct at the time. It seems like it's Verizon's head honcho types that keep springing these delays. That doesn't mean we shouldn't trust the sources.

If I am disappointed in the GNex, I will stay with Verizon and look a the Razr, Rezound, and iPhone 4s (i know). If my OG Droid was not on its last leg, I would probably wait for one of the quad core phones that are expected in 1st and 2nd quarter of 2012. Unfortunately, I can't afford to wait that long. I need a working phone, so I would be deciding between those 3.

I dunno, all 3 phones are good for everyone out there. I think if you're in this thread you're here for this phone. If you're in the vigor thread you're there for that phone and so on...there's literally something out there for everyone! I think its a great time to be a verizon customer! Its just painful for us Nexus people waiting on the thing to come out

I mean like if Scott actually posted screen of that email vs the other posts of just just linking to DL. In other words this forum is the original source of some evidence.

I know that I found the samsung battery and battery cover with the verizon cover using Google and posted it here the day before it hit the webz.
