I think I'm starting to not care about this phone anymore...
Does anyone remember that leaked advertising schedule? On Sunday night football I just saw a Verizon commercial for iPhone on the best network. When was that supposed to start according to the schedule?

What does Google have to do with this? It's in Verizon's hands now...
Did you not see my post earlier? The manager called me to tell me he was notified of an incoming shipment of 50 GNexi, to come in by Tuesday (probably). But I guess we'll just have to wait and see exactly what happens to that shipment...
oops,nevermindP3 is a great developer (albeit a shady one for charging people money for his work, pretty sure he is breaking some sort of law for profiting on pre-released open source code.)
However, he knows nothing about these kinds of things. He isn't as "in the know" as he would like you to believe with company politics or strategy. On more than one occasion, he "reconfirms" leaks he finds on other websites and makes them appear as his own. Who knows what or who is sources are.
As somebody who is well-known in the Android field, he has a responsibility to verify his info before he runs with it. He runs with it as soon as he "gets" anything (and I say that loosely because my feeling is he makes stuff up as he goes along). He has said it will be out almost every Thursday since the end of October. He says there are bugs, but then gives it a glowing review, and then says the device is ready for primetime. He constantly contradicts himself.
There is no doubt in my mind that, at least with issues dealing with the release of the device, he knows absolutely nothing.
This most certainly has to do with Google. Verizon has pushed them around and because of that, we're getting a Nexus with two pre-installed Verizon apps and one of them is "supposedly" holding up launch.
If you dont buy into that theory, then it's the marketing one. How spineless is Google to allow Verizon to push their fflagship device past Black Friday? Apple gives (THREE) carrier a date and that's when it releases.
No wonder Panda tweeted he wished his bosses were more like Jobs.
after re-reading the last week of tweets from P3 and BMX, something doesn't jive. one of them is completely wrong and i can't believe neither of them has called out the other as much as they seem to communicate. i am more inclined to trust BMX on the google side, but who really knows.
11/14:
P3Droid - Put your money down folks..you can relax. The nexus won't be here soon. Start planning for end of year purchases. That is the new word on the street.
black_man_x - Just saying this.. Devices are ready and date that vzw asked for was met.. So if you don't see it in stores... Well #blamevzw
11/15:
black_man_x - well..big red has the shiny LTE.. they make the calls.. no need to get upset.. it will be here.. one day
11/18:
P3Droid - So here is the skinny..there is no stock in the us..orders will arrive at us customs around the 29th of November
black_man_x - I'm tired of these "technical issue" rumors about the nexus delay.. Should just bring back the google.Com/phone address back
11/19:
black_man_x - If you can't code your shitty carrier apps to work with a device or OS.. is that our issue or yours? #justsaying
P3Droid - WTF, Nexus is not delayed due to MyVerizon.apk or BackupAssistant, the phone is drop dead ready !!!
When I see a P3Droid treat I think of this...

Don't try to compare Apple, a walled-garden software AND hardware designer and generally "praised" company, with Google (who makes the software) and Samsung (who makes the hardware). Google and Samsung aren't simply resting on their laurels like you might think, but Verizon got pretty screwed when they decided to launch this phone along with the RAZR and Rezound, and now they've gotten themselves into a sticky situation.
That's what I think of it, at least.
I trust Panda over anyone when it comes to the Nexus. He is a Google employee and he is frustrated with the whole situation. If he says the phone is ready then I believe him. It may have some bugs but I don't think they are anything that should keep them off of the market. He said hes done talking about the Nexus until it is out and I do not blame him.
But how does he know anything about what's going on at Verizon's end? That's what I don't seem to understand...
Verizon better get their crap together real soon. I just found out that since I work for the DoD I can go to AT&T with a 15% discount and get an unlimited data plan as a new customer! AT&T has HSPA+ in my area and I don't think I see Verizon LTE for at least a year here so that's a plus too and my Verizon coverage at work is virtually non-existent. Most of the day I go without any signal at all. I've not been a fan of AT&T for a while now since their screwed me over on a Blackberry but the way Verizon has become more omnipotent in the way they treat their customer's desires I think they've finally surpassed my distaste for AT&T. Now only Apple is ahead of Verizon on my list.
Oh and BTW, I looked and with the pro-rating of the ETF with Verizon it would only cost me $150 to get out of jail.
Now if they'd only get the phone I really want. Sigh![]()
