I just called my corporate Verizon and asked if there was any release info yet and she said we are getting training so it should be soon any day now.
That's the most truly "official" news I have heard and not read to date.

I'm willing to bet my soul that when the Nexus is released there will still be some bugs. Verizon is known for claiming to thoroughly test it's device's before releasing, yet every single phone I have ever owned from Verizon had some minor issues.
I think the bug issues is still an excuse, so if it's legit why hasn't Verizon announced that as being the case. The volume issue is a GSM issue for sure maybe it did or didn't effect the LTE ones who knows.
My thinking was they had all the hspa phone's built before the LTE ones so maybe by the time the LTE phone's were manufactured the problem was corrected.
I'm just speculating here...
Hi all, another long-time lurker emerging from the shadows...
I apologize for low helpfulness to words ratio, but I thought given how much of a free-rider I've been, I'd try to contribute something, however small.I'll add my own "spoke to verizon store rep and this is what s/he said" anecdote (nothing earth shattering and outside the bounds of current speculation).
I went in to participate in verizon's generous rental program. I've been using a samsung non-smart phone, and for the last two weeks the screen has been 80% black and a good 2/3ds of the buttons non-functional. I'm under a one year manufacturer's warranty, but I've avoided the hassle of going in and getting it replaced thinking, like many of you, that the Nexus was just around the corner. And indeed, the Nexus seems to have an uncanny ability to be just around the corner...
Not having been on any kind of data plan, the double data deal was appealing to me, and I decided rather than just replacing the broken dumb phone I'd rent a Rezound for the time being and get signed up for double data.
While there, UPS shipments were coming into the store (don't get hopes up -- i dont want to string you along). I saw at least 20-30 decent sized boxes being taken to the back. One of the managers was joking with a sales rep, saying "I think we know what those are..." and the rep responded excitedly "really???". Naturally, I couldnt help but interject? "the GALAXY NEXUS??." The manager chuckled and said "ya right." The rep told me they were probably iphone 4s (they had been waiting for a new shipment), and then added that the nexus probably wouldnt be here for "at least two weeks." I will say that this sales rep based on the rest of our conversation didn't exactly inspire confidence that she knows much about phones, android, verizon, life (?) etc, so of course take this with a grain of salt.
I know that there is some question as to what the holiday return policy is. (For those ethically opposed to the rental program, I'd recommend not reading further...). I didn't mention to this rep specifically what I planned to do, but she did explicitly say that I have 14 days from activation, and that the holiday return policy is only for unactivated phones. This definitely spooked me, but luckily I've got a transcript saved with a discussion with an online CSR, and if I have problems, I plan to leverage that as much as possible.
Here are some relevant bits from the discussion with the online CSR (from a few days ago):
So I guess the takeaway is, different reps are saying different things. So try a few times and try to get it in writing? The online CSR interface on vzw's webpage has a nice feature where if you want they will email you a transcript of the discussion.
Cheers
Huh? The extended holiday return policy is clearly written on the receipts.
Time out.
I want to take a second to address this "community letter" that is being drafted. First of all, this isn't something that will be sent "on behalf" of AF. While many people agree with the sentiments aired, we have 750,000+ members on this site and a sub-section cannot speak for the majority- and especially not for me.
Second of all, I'd strongly discourage using the current tone of this message. It sounds like little more than disparaging, insulting, and threatening Verizon. That's not how you get what you want. You can get your point across without being angry and rude; you can get your point across by being diplomatic.
The fact is that Verizon will have 3 great phones when the Galaxy Nexus launches, including the RAZR and Rezound. What's the reason a release date hasn't been announced? We don't know. Yes, it completely sucks, but mud slinging will not get you a release date.
If you would like me to help prepare a letter expressing disappointment and concern, I'm happy to help do that -in a respectful and diplomatic manner - and share it with Verizon. However it will not be on behalf of AF... it will be more like an internal petition requesting their attention. We can use "Thanks" as a matter of signing the petition. It can address the return policy or switching carriers, but not in a threatening manner that demands or insists on an answer or reply.
If this is a route you'd like to go... "Thank" this post. If not, feel free to continue on whatever path you'd like, but do so knowing that nothing created here is on behalf of AndroidForums.com or myself, rather a group of Galaxy Nexus loyalists who feel they're being unfairly left in the dark.
I'd urge you to take a breather, think about the way tech world works, think about what outcome you desire, re-read your draft, and consider our goal of reaching that outcome in a respectable manner that is consistent with Android Forums high standard of treating other people.
NOTE: This thread will be temporarily closed to ensure many of you read and understand this position. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!
The letter is currently being drafted. Please continue to thank his post if you agree with the idea presented:

Ok gang - posts copied from the main pre-release thread, these are the ones that stood out to me.
There are many others that stand out to you, feel free to post them here - but please make them Galaxy Nexus or Nexus specific.
All other fun vids you want saved for posterity go here -

And whatever you do -
PLEASE do not post videos with "feature=" "player" or "embedded" in the link name. That and posting as an IMGage screws up page formatting until a mod can track it down. Thanks!!!![]()
