Your points all address the legal issues, not the ethical.

That's up to each individual as you pointed out.

I'm personally fine with someone buying one device and swapping to another even if that was their intention all along, however when we don't apply it to phones, a philosophy of "Because its not illegal, that makes it right" suddenly becomes very scary.

To me it is easy and personal ethics play no part in business ethics. Not to say they shouldn't but in the real world they don't. Verizon has no problem trying to milk whatever they can to increase their stock value so the ethical standard has already been set.

Early, about that slap-smack-spit button? :p

Oh, and on that offer to bribe me, a T-Bird man, with a chop-shop Lexus...

:D :D ;)

Not that I am doubting you... What is your reasoning? :)

Initially my reasoning was due to returns, then Verizon picked up the extended return policy (which truly shredded my theory), but alas I'm hanging on to it. It also puts their "it will be out in November" thing in play but still lets it be an official December release in stores.

The post above about a CyberMonday release makes sense to me too.

All in all . . . no reasoning, not in THIS thread.

Well with GSM phones already hitting the US, one would think vzw would push hard to release the lte variant by beginning of next week. I'm sure we'll see people leaving vzw and buying the GSM version of the gnex.

Sorry if this was posted before, I can barely keep up with this thread by just skimming for posts with lots of thanks...

Someone asked about 1000 or so posts ago about buying a phone through amazon and mentioned that their girlfriend was getting them an amazon gift card that they intended to use for said purchase. Just as an FYI, I got an amazon GC from someone for my birthday and I was unable to find anywhere in the checkout steps (for amazon wireless) where you could use it. So unfortunately I don't think GCs are an option on amazon's wireless site.

Unfortunately if we agree Verizon cares very little about us, they care even less about people who import phones. Those folks are the rarest of breeds I believe.

My $.02. I still maintain they will not miss BF at least in terms of advertising and media. You may not see the fliers in stores but starting on Thursday when 'America's Team' plays in their obligatory T-giving game and for a full week there will be an onslaught of TV adds and hype for the Gnex and I am hoping for a 12/1 prerelease sale and in stores on 12/8. I have nothing to back it up just saying this is logical w/ all information rumored and confirmed to be a prudent course to expect.

BTW calling the Cowboys 'America's Team' was meant to help induce nausea and bowel spasms.

You should be able to put it in on the regular site under your account, and it will apply to your next purchase no matter which part of Amazon's world you use it in.

You succeeded. :D

latest tweet from negrielectronics.

But like us who knows when the LTE shipments would come in. Im sure it would be different than the 25th for the GSM

Yeah I'd say there should be an asterisk or caveat in there...whenever they get the LTE shipments in. I doubting they're also getting the LTE version in the same shipment.

I would have to disagree with advertising on BF, why waste ad space on something your can't buy right then when they are pushing other phones for free?

This is true. Google is probably to blame for some of it, although I don't know why their release in Europe went off without too much of a hiccup while here in the U.S. it seems to be taking forever.

I also think people put too much blame on the big red. Take iPhone 4S release for an example: press conference on the 4th, preorder 3 days later, and nationwide release 1 week after preorder. The only reason the 4S can be released 10 days after announcement if because all the testing has been completed on all 3 carriers (CDMA and GSM) BEFORE the announcement.

If one example is not enough, let's look at Razr and ReZound, both were up for preorder/sale within days of announcement. Why? Becasue all testings are complete!

IMMO, Google should get the most blame for not working with VZW to complete the testing for the LTE Nexus BEFORE announcement. They really should announce the Nexus this week, allow for preorder starting cyber Monday, and release the phone on Dec 8th. This way everyone will be happier.

I don't buy that Verizon interntionally hold off the release to promote RAZR. If they really want to do it, they would have release the rezound after Thanksgiving, not 1 business day after RAZR release.
