***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

You have to make a decision at some point, a rumor is just as good as any other reason.

For me the cut off is probably the end of the year, when the after Christmas sales hit. If its not out I'm going to follow Hans olo's suggestion, get a TP and start checking out the next round of phones in the may-july time frame.

My Dinc. is still more then usable, I just want a NEW toy dammit!

Yeah, but the end of the year is way more reasonable. Verizon said later this year. That's not a rumor.

agreed. I dont really use a whole lot of data, but its nice to know its there. If tmobile was any good, i would have switched already. I also really want/need the 32gb model too

My problem is that the VZW tower I talk to at work is between the office and a large commuter university. It is terribly oversubscribed in the daytime during the school year, to the point that I get maybe 150kb down most days. Not nearly enough bandwidth to stream music.

I'm fleeing to 4g to keep my sanity at work.

I love how people base their personal cut-off dates on rumors. If that's how we do it, then when the world doesn't end in 2012, how many people will leave for Mercury? It may not be as nice there, but at least you'll know you'll be dead.

Agreed, but honestly Verizon is my Pimp... I cant afford to buy off contract, and I cant get out of my contract. After using my OG and going to a Thunderbolt and going back to the OG because it could actually be on AOSP w/o data issues, I am dead set on Vanilla android because its just better and the Nexus is supported. So if they released it on 12/25, id still have to buy it. Even though its not as 'powerful' as the devices coming at CES, it will be getting upgrades long after those new devices are 'defunct'.

Oh that one was totally Hans...

Although, its such a natural evolution that it was going to come about any way...

Just don't think of Beavis and Butthead, you'll be fine... :P

OK so whoever came up with TP needs a slap upside through head too. Every time I see that I wonder why everyone needs toilet paper so bad!

lol @ toilet paper. Whenever I see TP I can't help but to think TouchPad. If you were part of the slickdeals TouchPad liquidation thread you would think the same. That may have been the most epic thread in the history of the world wide webz.

Just because something is announced at CES also doesn't mean it coming anytime soon. cough-Bionic-cough.

Welp, the ReZound got S-off. That got rid of my last hesitation to pick the phone up, so I'll probably grab one when I get back to town on Monday and give it a trial run. Who knows, I may end up keeping it now that it can be rooted and ROMed fully.

Please save yourself and dont.... SVDO is a PITA for developers. That dang Qualcomm dual radio trick. The Thunderbolt is not and will not be fully supported on CM7 because of it, and AOSP has data dropout issues. It was horrible on my phone.

I still haven't gone to look at the Rezound, mainly because I don't want the temptation. I could totally see myself getting and keeping one.

I was and really still am a Sense person. It used to chuckle at people with Dinc's that would put Sense down as horrible, load up a "vanilla" ROM, then spend a week loading 3rd party apps(launchers/widget/etc) to get back the functionality that Sense had built in...

I did that the first time I ran cm7.
Then went to a semi stripped down sense rom.
When I decided the Nexus was going to be mine I went back to cm7 and have nothing sense like loaded. And I LOVE it this time. I think knowing I'm going to a vanilla phone helped in the transition

Now I just need my Nexus
*sigh*

Just checking in... skimmed over today's posts. Can anyone bring me up to speed? It seems like the only new thing is P3Droids tweet of a possible word on the release date...anything else?

I don't think the Rezound has the SVDO chip, I could be wrong, but I think HTC ditched it after the TBolt for the exact reason you listed, that RIL issue has pissed my friend off to no end. I will have to check around, but you're right if it does indeed share that flaw (it is a flaw, I don't care how bad you want to talk and surf) I definitely won't be getting it, I love AOSP.

Do yourself a favor and load up MIUI. Not a sarcastic reply, I really think you should. It FLIES compared to Sense on the Inc, and brings a lot of functionality to the table.

Does anyone else think that at this point Verizon could very well do an insta-release, as in announce it Dec. 8th and release Dec. 9th? If so, it'll be a tough 2 weeks until we hear any official news :(

Yeah plus "vanilla" has improved a LOT, 2.2/2.3+ Vanilla is decent. When you get back into 2.0 and before "vanilla" was down right BAD, people that say otherwise need to check their glasses for "rose" coloring.

Yeah it has the exact same chip  and it only allows talk and surf on 3G.. all 4G phones can do it over LTE

Its actually qualcomm technology. I believe its 1X Advanced or something like that.
