"This is firmware from Samsung, but for beta testers (I think)
A lot of problems, but it's working..."
This is written on the clip description
Anyone else get twitter from them and getting annoyed at how much is going on around the spica versus what we're seeing?
F********K.I'll be going to MWC some day next week, don't know when, but you can be sure if there's someone in the Samsung stand responsible for Android phones (I think a great % will be devoted to its own Bada) I will ask him (nicely) where the f*ck is the update for the Galaxy![]()
You can also give him a hint, that there are 'others' out there, and, boy, they won't be as 'nice' as you are if he meets them )
In fact, you are unlikely to get anything sensible from him. I suppose decision-makers don't pose at the stands, though I may be wrong.
Well I don't expect a decision-maker but rather a product manager for Android, or any kind of engineer involved in the Android line, someone who knows something about this (and is willing to share any news, that's the difficult part)
. I'll be back at MWC on wednesday, I'll try to ask somebody else. But for sure if they are planning 2.x for galaxy why they are enduring the bad publicity of unhappy users whingeing all over the net I dont know...

btw Bada looks a lot like a little enhanced Symbian to me which is disappointing. i've been following tons of topics about possible Galaxy update and feeds from many Android related sites for weeks, i hate the way samsung's playing all of us, but i'm not giving up hope though. if we make enough of a fuss on the internet about this, they will yield to us, you'll see!
i concluded since they didnt upgrade to donut that they are waiting for eclair to be ready. But when i saw low spec motorola or acer with cupcake on this show i dont know... maybe they think 1.5 is enough? I think Google did stupid move with nexus. You shouldnt eat your business partners. Maybe they want to buy HTC?
It is. Or we you being sarcastic?
It's just so obvious, that Google branded phones will have updates faster than any other phones + they will probably get more updates during their lifespan. Which is why buying a 'Google phone' gives so much advantages, esp. if it's a more or less an adequate deal in terms of money as well.
indeed, i will get another android but it will probably be an htcProbably been said a million times before but here goes... Whilst I agree that having a Google phone will get you faster O/S updates, by releasing the Nexus they have done two things :-
1. Sent out a message to other phone manufacturers like Samsung to pull their finger out and release the latest firmware/drivers so that we can have android 2.1, otherwise they will lag behind...
2. The whole point of buying an Android phone is its upgradeability WITHOUT having to buy a new smartphone. At least that was my reasoning in buying an i7500. If you can't, or the manufacturers don't get their act together then sadly Android gets dragged through the dirt with them...
I have yet to decide whether this will work in Google's favour or whether it is a shot in the foot for Android?
If you have just bought a phone with Android on it and now want to upgrade your hardware to get a later release of Android then you're stupid, and also you're playing into the hands of the phone manafacturers who just want you to buy their latest phone....(e.g. Galaxy2!!!)
Same here.indeed, i will get another android but it will probably be an htc
