So guys, my friends and family have staged a bit of an intervention. The deal is, I get an iPhone 4S, and my wife lets me get the TP.
Uh oh. . . .

Eh, if the 4S was an actual upgrade over the 4, that deal wouldn't seem to bad at all. But I don't think I can get to a smaller screen.... and the reduced functionality (although it is a better user experience imho).
Transformer prime
Well, seeing as how the TP might very well be out before the SGN, I'll take a look at it. If it makes me pee my pants, I may stick with the Dinc2 if I ask Verizon nicely and just wait.
I don't know why I can't have everything immediately. Is that so unreasonable?
Han my man I think I speak for everyone here and say you deserve both the TP and GN. We got your back buddy![]()
I read the first sentence and thought, "Is Han Mormon?" Then I read the second sentence...I refuse to think about that one.The wives say if I cancel my ski trip in January, I can have both. The husbands immediately began a chorus of "Nooooo!".
what? the 4s isnt an upgrade? how? because its not a new number?
hans, don't do it
We're just going to come right out and say it. The five megapixel autofocus camera on the Galaxy Nexus is underwhelming, and to be clear, we're not referring to the specs, but to the actual pictures. In the year since the introduction of the Nexus S, we've witnessed significant improvements in camera performance, first with Samsung's Galaxy S II, then with HTC's myTouch 4G Slide, and more recently, with Apple's iPhone 4S. Each of these handsets combines an eight megapixel backside-illuminated sensor with a fast wide-angle autofocus lens, and takes wonderful shots. It's not clear why Google passed on using Samsung's flagship camera module, but it's a real shame. While the Galaxy Nexus shooter is extremely fast and introduces plenty of new features, it provides little (if any) improvement in picture quality over the Nexus S.
Not sure if posted yet but according to BGR an announcement is expected early next week.
Verizon may launch Galaxy Nexus, DROID 4 on December 8th

Announcement next week, launch next month
announcement, not release. I just want the phone already. The fact it went on for this long is torture.
This is slightly disappointing from Engadget's review:
This is slightly disappointing from Engadget's review:
I feel that the camera has been a letdown from all the reviews. Wish they would have used the SII camera but I think they were were trying to achieve the 0 shutter lag thing locked down first. Although the 4s is able to achieve this with a good lens.
I do feel the build quality could have been more motorola like but maybe we'll get that next year. We will certainly get this with all the other manufacturers in 2012 competing with the nexus.
The only thing I dont like on ICS is the lack of Search button. I can live without the menu key as they have implemented it in all the apps that need it. The problem is alot of times(IE: in contacts, in the imdb app, etc) in apps or different parts of the OS, Im in a certain screen and I want to search for something. I immediately go to the search button and the top turns into a search for that particular app or screen.
Hope they add that back in and make the bottom back to 4 buttons.
Which part did you feel was disappointing?
yeah. i can't remember where i saw it, but there was a thread either on here or macrumors comparing the galaxy nexus camera to the iphone 4s, the sgsII and the Vivid I think?
The Nexus' camera was clearly worse than both the iphone 4s and hte sgsII.
It was washed out, and not as focused as either of them.
However, other pics I've seen look great. So I am not sure what is going on.
