It's a bummer to hear engadgets comments regarding the camera.

I don't know if this was posted before, but here are some sample pictures comparing the SG SII and the Nexus:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs Samsung Galaxy SII (S2) [Camera Test] | Hemorrdroids.net

Although the pictures are very close, I feel like some of the SII pictures have more detail. I don't know if it is my eyes playing tricks on me, but that is my first impression when looking at some of the pictures.

With that said, I don't think I will be disappointed with the Nexus camera. Those pictures still look significantly better than my OG Droid. Hmph :/

EDIT: I just wanted to note that I feel like some of the pictures do look better on the Nexus.

See, and that camera they quote in the myTouch 4G slide? Same as in the rezound. I have small kids and basically the only way I get pictures is with my phone, never have a dedicated camera with me. Camera quality is important to me, I know some people don't care, they always carry a DSLR, etc. Hmm...

Well they are not saying the camera is bad. It just isnt the best camera in a cell phone today. The best would be the 4s and SG SII. If you were to compare it to cameras in all phones it is probably still in the top 5-10. So you are still getting the best phone but with the 5th best camera available in all of phones.

Just because it isnt the "best" camera doesnt mean it is terrible.

I think the letdown is that we wanted this phone to be the "best" at everything.

It isnt the best camera (still high end), isnt the best gpu (still top 3) and isnt the best build quality (feels plasticy but still high end feel).

Besides those 3 "best" factors out of 100s, it is sounding like the phone is the best at everything else...

BMX posted up a few weeks ago saying that the GNEX has a SGSII module on it... I don't get why everyone says its worse, I believe its mind (only 5mp) over matter

The GN pictures are more life like than SGII, the person who wrote this article also states the GN pictures is more life like than SGII. IMO

I also hate the persistent search window on top. I switch my homescreens alot, but I always want as little clutter as possible.

This is my lockscreen and my home screen right at this moment:

Yes, my buttons are invisible. And yes, I am a nerd.

I agree, but I still feel like I can see more detail in some of the pictures. Like I said, it could be my eyes playing tricks on me, but that was my first impression.

For example, on the picture of the cathedral, I feel like I can see more detail in the bricks on the SG2 than the Nexus.

I'm not worried about the camera. I HONESTLY think it has something to do with slight movements when hitting the button because I've seen some beautiful pictures taken with it, and others look terrible. It's all about the user.

Ok that was a good example, how about the other pictures. Question, which is better detail or life like in regards to picture quality?

Suh says he's not a dirty player? So it's within the rules to smash a guy's head into the ground 3 times and then stomp on him as he's walking away?

That guy deserves to be suspended a few games.

Sorry, but that just made me root against the Lions. What a tool.

The lions may surpass the patriots as my most hated team haha

I don't think it's just mind over matter. Take a look:

SGN:

SGSII:

The SGSII seems to be better saturated than the SGN.
The white balance seems to be the biggest difference in that particular comparison. Don't know if that's due to the default settings that the two phones use or the settings the user selected.

In the other photos on that article, the SGSII photos do look a little sharper.

To make it even worse, he owns an iPhone.

I hate being one of those people that comes in and posts a link you've already seen, but:

Note how they take a particular dislike to the camera, and also 28 hours of battery life?! Oh boy :)
