Please look at the comments on this page about the site that photo links to, where the flash player links to. Clear your cache and run a spyware scan if you clicked that link. IMHO

Actually, fixing things like this are how I make my money. PM me if you have any PC problems. :D:D:D

[Hide] I kid! [Hide] No seriously, my rates are cheap[/Hide][/Hide]

I do computer troubleshooting as a side business here in Atlanta thanks for the info. ;) Scans report me clean.

omg. is this phone really about to be $199????? if so, this is a no brainer. and does this mean it could possibly launch on the 28th? i am SO EXCITED I got the ad loaded up and it looks completely legit because it has all the other phones that we dont care about too.. this thing is real!

I think it's just a mistake. I think this might have been a plan (for black Friday pricing) that didn't happen and the ad didn't make it out of rotation. Someone at the ad network or VZW is about to get an ear full.

That, or it was done accidentally on purpose to help ensure everyone knows they were intending to launch by now.

;)

And new life springs forth to this thread...

That $199 price gives me hope that I might not have to pay $649.

Come on early Christmas!

Probably. Something we could chew on for a bit.

I think you might be overreacting a bit. Of course an ad network is going to get bad trust scores. Such is the nature of advertising.

I'm not really overreacting. I just people should know what they are clicking on is all. If there is nothing to worry about, then you have nothing to worry about. Seriously, I in no way think you were trying to infect anyone, but that Ad Server places a tracking cookie on your PC when you click that link, lots of them do. It doesn't mean it's stealing personal information, but it is a level of spyware regardless. By staying away from thinks like this, I have managed to keep my PC virus free for five years, with no anti virus program. It's worth mentioning, and it's not personal.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is, right?

Either way, with what any carrier makes dragging me into a two-year contract, 200 smackers is my absolute top price for any subsidized phone - and if not at launch, well, they always come down.

I fully believe this ad is for a upcoming sale within the next two weeks. In the Ad, the Droid Charge is shown to be $99, right now the charge goes for $199, for the Stratosphere right now its $149 in the ad it's $99. The Nexus shows $199 but it probably actually retails for $299 but for the holiday sale theyre dropping $50-100 on a bunch of phones i'm guessing. This is legit IMO.

isn't it possible that they are releasing a 16 gb version for 199 and a 32 gb version for 299?

That's consistent with past and concurrent pricing on similar phones.

And they usually always advertise the lowest price available.

That's what I was thinking. $200 for the 32gb version seems to good to be true, but this ad suggests that, at least at some point, they were planing to to give you a GN for $200.

Or maybe it's just a disgruntled VZW employee messing with us.

Maybe tomorrow morning we will get a pre-order for an online release...probably not...but maybe, just maybe...I think we have a shot at the 28th for release still...

thats what i'm thinking, bc that Verizon marketing plan thingy starts the Samsung Nexus section on 11/28.. so we'll see. most likely it'll be 12/8 though.

Aw man, I just checked Costco.com and their membership is $55! That blows because I don't have a Costco anywhere near me. Don't feel like shelling out that much for a one time purchase.

Argh. Why can't more things be free anymore?

:(

Edit: sad face worked!

Happy face

Interesting the third party site (a Cartoys susidiary) doesn't ask for your Costco member number when you place an order. Just letting you expand your options Han. :)
