***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

The ad doesn't look blurry and unprofessional when viewed at 600x250. It's not meant to be viewed fullscreen.

I was thinking the same thing as well, but even then I just have a fishy feeling about. But again, I guess its all opinion- I just feel like the average photoshop joe can probably do better work than that.

Also, I don't get how people think its fishy? It's definitely a verizon ad, whether it was meant to be up or not, its definitely a verizon ad haha it's not like a screen shot of an order number for a GN!

I wouldn't say "people," as I think I am the only or one of the only who has said it is fishy. But either way, I wasn't aware that it is directly from verizon, so you probably are right. I just saw the link someone posted and it looked wrong to me (as in not quality work), and still does, thats all..

The fishiness is probably because the ad is hosted on some fishy ad company's server. Others posted the WOT rating for it and it looks like a pretty fishy company but many online advertisers give off that vibe.

I keep looking at it on phandroid, (it's still showing btw) and I can honestly say that it looks like something I would expect to see on the side of a website. If you're reffering to the link that was posted of the full screen version, then I can totally see what what you mean, but otherwise I guess it really does take a trained eye to spot.

Just got back home from Black Friday shopping to see some great news pop up here :D
To me, the ad looks pretty legit and I'm looking forward to the 12/8 release!

I'm pretty tired so I'll be leaving fairly early tonight. Good night everyone! I'm a bit late but I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day!

So did I miss the conversation about Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ review -- Engadget

The part that makes me hold my breath is there take on the camera. Seems to be the only real chink in the phones armor. Just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't use the other camera in there S2 or the type that is in the HTC Rezound.

Besides the camera, looks good.

Since we're on the subject of adverts posted in haste thought I'd throw this image up if it hasn't been posted yet. Sorry guys, just skimmed through the last few pages after returning from BB empty-handed-- the Black Friday walk of shame. Again, as mentioned about the flash ad, it does appear legit although I'm more inclined to believe it was put up by mistake just like the the other one.
EDIT: Yup, old news.

I was looking at the full screen animated site, and I actually just saw the OP's screenshot's. I must say, that does look MUCH better- the problem I am having is not the nexus but the other two phone ad's still look extremely fishy to me. But at this point I feel like I am the only one who keeps on saying this, so I'm going to keep it to myself :)

This would have to be one of the most expensive pranks I've ever seen, and at what gain? I can understand a degree of skepticism but I wouldn't go as far as to call this a hoax. This lines up perfectly with the marketing roadmap that leaked a few weeks ago and the scale of the campaign more or less speaks for itself. Whether the ads were put up erroneously or not remains to be seen but I doubt Verizon would allow an ad showing a false price for a product to stay up this long. They are obligated to sell the product for the advertised price.

Where was the flash ads point of origin? What is it actually found on a live page and then removed or is it still being displayed?

Turn off any ad-blockers you may have and visit Phandroid's main site, it's been there for me, still is.

Interesting. Wonder how long they'll allow us to be tortured before it gets removed or prompts them to make a public statement. This all has to be a mistake by those responsible for releasing the ads for use. And a major one at that.

I guess we can take two things away from this though. VZW must really be stretched thin regarding the release of this phone. For something like this to slip is a pretty big deal. My bet is a few too many all-nighters for the folks responsible, and a pretty major breakdown in communication between departments (that much we ALL assumed long ago though). Also, we can assume they wanted to make an announcement quite a while ago. The obvious focus of this Holiday ad promo is the Nexus. I would figure that if this were how they wanted it to play out, an announcement a week prior would have been in the cards. Now with everything so in flux, It'll probably be one event right on top of another-- announcement and availability immediately. Just a guess. Any thoughts?
