I definitely need some sort of back of battery in my line of work - I've really been suffering with the Droid Charge. I'm just not sure which option will work best for me -- extended battery, portable charger (like the ones that are a battery themselves and then charge the phone), or a spare battery/external charger set-up.

Same here, and the external charger with a spare battery does the trick for me. It allows me to always have an extra 10 hours of life at my disposal. Two batteries get me through the day no problem...though I have pushed the limits a bit on long trips.

Wow. Sorry I missed all the fun about the ad last night. Very interesting though.

Not sure what the article about the GNex not playing audio through the USB cable.. bluetooth/aux cable are the ways I use with the ipod or my phone to play through my car stereo since it has no USB input. Not to mention an aux cable is less 'clunky' than a usb cable in my experience. Seems they are just picking nits.

Pre-congrats for all of us on making this the largest thread ever on AF shortly. Casting my vote for Steven to get the post that pushes us over the top!

Calling all forum members for help?
Read this morning that some of you were using an ICS launcher so I tried it and none of my widgets work and I'm such a noob that I don't know what I'm doing wrong regardless of how easy it is for you all, haha. Any SIMPLE advice... It's okay treating me like half a jerk here. Thanks. :)

At the expense of going to far OT, you could PM me and I can try to give you any advice I can.

I'm on the phone with Costco, waiting for a CSR, to ask about when the 14 day trial period begins.

I think I'm going to do it, peeps.

I won't be off the SGN train yet, as long as Verizon births the beast on or before December 8. If not, then I'll have to decide whether to return this thing before the 14 day period or if I just want to keep an HD, LTE, dual core phone that will soon be unlocked for $50.

Argh.

Freaking idiots.

Doesn't CostCo regularly have a 30 day return period on their phones? Thought I remembered seeing that on another thread a while back. I could be mistaken though.

Edit: Found this on Costco.com. Looke like it's 90 day's for phones as well.

Costco.com: Return Policy

Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touch screen tablets, MP3 players and cellular phones.

Are you rooted? The rom and theme may not be playing well together.

I may be wrong, but you would have to control music playback through phone and would be unable to control through head unit.

I see. Well I have the steering wheel controller for the radio so the phone volume is all the way up and the volume is controlled via the wheel remote.

The phone is dash mounted so if I want to pause, go forward, skip or what ever I just tap the phone controls.

I guess the article really applies to those with new cars that sport the feature. But my Grocery Getter/Soccer Mom, PI Mini Van - Love Ninja Killer be Jammin all the while!

No. Both of you no. You want this phone.

Costco.com: Return Policy

Answer below:

Yes but 14 days if you have any discounts or upgrades you want refunded back to your Verizon account.

Also, YankeeDudeL has confirmed that you lose your upgrade if you decide to return the handset after the 14 day period. And their "official" policy is that you can't exchange it for another different phone (SGN) after that initial 14 day period. Will some do it? Yes. But I don't want to go to store after store looking for the guy who doesn't care.

What about your unlimited data? Did you check with Verizon about putting it back on? Also, can anyone that's eligible for an upgrade get this or do you have to be so far into your contract? I thought I had read on here you had to be 22 months in.

No. Both of you no. You want this phone.

I have always thought the ReZound was a better phone on looks, specs and build. The only thing the GNex has going for it is ICS and the longer this goes, the closer the ReZound gets to having ICS. And before you jump on me, yes, I love Sense. So now you can jump on me for that. Sooooo......

I'm on the phone with Costco (still on hold) only to find out about when the 14 day period begins. If I order, it will be online.

So if I do decide to go that route, I'll call Verizon first to make sure I won't lose unlimited. Although there have been a bunch of people who are saying they called over at AC, and they were all told you won't lose it. But I'll make sure anyway, if I do decide to do it.

I think the 22 month thing is true, but my contract expired earlier this month anyway so it doesn't affect me.

I will keep my comments out of the gutter.

There are a lot of good things about Sense. I won't jump on you for that.
For me the Nexus is ICS and NFC. And I'm ready for a change.

With me just patiently waiting rockin my OG Droid and reading all the posts about return policies and such I am glad I am not in the middle of all that.

Just remember with all you read here, with its honest intent and purposes........... none of it matters until you contact either Verizon, Best Buy, or Costco.

Costco can be tricky depending on how savvy the rep is you are dealing with. It will either go as planned or you may wind up having to raise cane.

Verizon, My Story, I keep hearing of a restocking fee but did not experience it when I did a NE2 via phone CSR for a Dinc2 a while back and promptly called back within the 14 day complaining how much I dis-liked the phone. They took it back no questions asked, no restocking fee, on their dime shipping charges.

I look forward to hearing all the stories on how it went here, or perhaps in another thread because this one will be closed.
