So am I the only one who thinks 11/29 could potentially happen? I know Samsung said the phone was delayed until December in the US but you never know... plus, it seems Samsung/Google are entirely out of the picture at this point, and that it's just up to Verizon now.

BTW gapi, I've never heard of a 14 year old girl who wants a phone like the Atrix II :P All the girls in my grade have iPhones lol!

I think you are...You were the only one the day before the 17th to still think it was coming haha. Nothing wrong with optimism, but it is a bit far fetched. I am sure we should get a concrete date at the end of next week/beginning of the following, whether it be ANOTHER delay, or it actually releasing...

Good news, I got it!!! :D

But first, here's advice for you both: Keep trying, the $50 sale may(?) continue through Sunday.

What finally got my attempt approved is that I tried specifying the phone number of an alternate eligible cell number on my plan when supplying login credentials (not my own cell #). I didn't expect it to work, but it did. I also needed to set Firefox to accept 3rd party cookies (only relevant if you've turned 'em off).

Cust svc finally picked up right as I submitted the order and confirmed that it did go through and that:

  1. The phone arrives unactivated and can be activated by VZW on any line in the account
  2. Yes, if you were Unlimited beforehand then you will still be afterward, even though you're forced to select from a list of plans that doesn't mention Unlimited
  3. The system will accept tentative orders despite being out of stock and they'll be confirmed in order depending on how many previous orders turn out not to have qualifying VZW accounts. This didn't make much sense to me, but that's what she said.

I don't think it'll get released but I do have a sliver of hope it'll be a preorder. Of course, I really doubt that as well, but I guess a little optimism never hurt anyone... I think.

Samsung announced the delay? I missed that one.

Well to tell the truth she was talking iPhone smack at me the other day and I preached as much as I could about it.
Then she shows up with the Atrix II and I says "What happened to the iPhone?". She tells me the iPhone display model had a line waiting to play with it so she picked up the Atrix II and it clicked. She decided not to even look at the iPhone even if it was a newer model than her buddies. She had sampled her friends iPhones in the past but never an Android.
Nothing puffs up a Dads pride more than hearing a "You were right DaD". And her going with a phone like Dad's instead of like Moms has me strutting about a tad also.

I think someone reached out to an official Samsung rep and they said it was coming in December. Might want to check on that, though.

Interesting, thanks. I was fearful using one of my other numbers as I didn't want to have to activate on that number then transfer back to my number.
So then it really wouldn't matter if the number I purchase it under has unlimited or not? So when you receive it although it was bought using an eligible number you feel confident what they said you will activate and use your line upgrade keeping the line you purchased with upgrade intact?

business insider claimed to have a source that said that, while not one other site or blog(including their own) has been able to verify that

As far as I know Samsung never confirmed a delay. That came from an article that was written, but no Samsung execs were quoted as saying there was a delay

Good point. And if the Droid 4 ends up dropping on 12/8, you would think they wouldn't want to launch 2 big phones on the same day. Plus, that ad from today seemed pretty legit, despite not fully functioning.
 
God help them now if they try to charge $299. After all the waiting, if it's not $199 like the ad/leak says, I imagine there will be some angry reactions
 
Well, took a trip to my local corporate store this evening with every intention of renting a rezound or razr.

Took a look at both, and was unimpressed with either enough to bother with the purchase/return/restocking fee. Love the rezound screen, hate sense and the build. Love the razr build, and even notblur, but the screen is disappointing.

I'll say this though.... if the razr had the screen of the rezound.... yikes. That would actually be something to consider vs. the nexus.

Oh, and of course I asked about the Nexus. Got the typical "I have no idea what that even is" face. Oh well.

I can hold out for two more weeks. Flashing a new SBF to the OG Droid as we speak.
