***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I've heard people talking about buying from Costco a lot recently. My nearest Costco is pretty far away, but can someone tell me why I would want to go there to buy instead of, say, online or at a VZW store? (not taking gapi's friend's experience into consideration)

Ordering through CostCo's online mobile phone reseller, you don't need to be near a store -- and more to the point you don't even need a CostCo membership! I'm getting a free case and car charger bundle, oboy.

OMG. Anyone else besides me remember transistor radios, eight track tape players and thought Mannix was really, really cool because he had a car phone!

Hey, I used to listen to a crystal radio (no plug! no batteries!) set I built from a Heathkit. Would fall asleep to CBS Radio Mystery Theater which often scared the crap outta me. There was one story about a vampire grandfather's clock. Skeeeeeery, OTD woulda loved it! One morning I woke up w/the earplug still in to the loud Ooga Chaka! Ooga Chaka! of the song Hooked on a Feeling.

I didn't have any trouble with its display either. I also have possibly the worst eyesight in the world, or it could have been that I was perfectly content with my PenTile display on the Inc's amoled.

And I brought a high-power magnifier with me (probly strange looks from the staff, but I tried to be nonchalant). Yeah I could see the RAZR subpixels with 'em, but not really w/my regular vision-corrected eyes.

Well I get engaged in tech bickering discussions, but no interest in bashing anybody's phone.

Yeah, RAZR display was nice w/great colors, but for extended text reading I'm expecting my Rezound to be better suited. Rezound thickness didn't bother me in the slightest, and it's said to be better one-handed than taller/wider RAZR. I've come around a little on non-removable batteries (may invest in 11000 external), but still prefer a replaceable as on Rezound and Nexus.

I bought mine. I figure that I have $50 NE2 discount, $50 complain to VZW execs discount and now $50 coupon. Even if it does come out at $299 I will only have to pay $150.

Thanks for the reply BlueBiker. It does feel more comfortable in the hand than the razr imo.

I've heard some funny stuff when purchasing a phone, but bringing a high power magnifier to the store?? lol!

I was going to buy mine, except they don't take Paypal. I don't know that site, and it seems like one big marketing ploy. They won't be getting my card info. $25 isn't that serious.

That will be no fun, I want my Google Wallet! Also I checked on the market, and the reason that it is "incompatible" to install is because "This item is not available on your carrier."

Oh you're right. Not sure if it can be made to work w/o carrier cooperation, and I don't really want to trust financial stuff hacked together by an aftermarket dev crew. Even if they're honest, they'll be targeted by the bigtime fraudsters.

It's where the rubber meets the road. Easy to throw display tech concepts around, totally different when you're the one plunking your $$$ down for a 2yr commitment.

Look at HTC go! Their aesthetic design imo has been rather static, but this is supposed to be loaded with an S4 snappy, ICS, qHD SAMOLED, 8MP shooter, and come in at under 8mm thick.
