Nothing new Gnex-wise, though... So while people are here, does anyone know if the Asus Transformer (not the Prime) had vanilla Android? Or does Asus have their own skin as well? I'm just curious to see if the Prime will come with a skin over ICS.

Ugh, and aside from getting updated ROMs, I really hate that site. Now I'm reading a long thread about them continually bashing the screen quality. Saying garbage like this:
"All of you who are saying GN screen is woow/amazing - you haven`t seen iPhone 4 screen. Put both side to side and you`ll see yourself. If you had $20 Nokia, then of course it will be "mind blowing" screen for you."

I've had my sgn for a day now and coming from iPhones the past 3 years I'll say that I will not be looking back. The phone is just simply amazing. I really have almost no issues with the phone. Was easy to root and got it setup and backed up perfectly. My only two annoyances so far is the inability to pinch to zoom in Gmail and also the notification light blinks way to slow. Other than that its everything I could ask for in a phone.

I only use them for ROM info and every once in a while for info if it happens to come up in google before AF does. They are just not friendly and if you don't agree with them you get harassed or infracted

I quietly put it back in the original box. It was about 2 months old. Wifey dropped it while sitting in bed, about 3 feet onto the wood floor. Screen was completed f&^%#*. I called Sammy about a warranty on it and they seemed completely nonplussed about it. Said a screen replacement would be "something like $450". I paid less for the damn thing at Staples.
Fortunately, our Flyer (which I got for $99 at Best Buy :D) is a solid tab for portability. Don't really miss HC, but the screen on the 10.1 was excellent.

Edit: And I childishly vowed to the CSR from Sammy that my Droid has been dropped countless times and I'd never buy a Samsung device every again. Guess I'll have to swallow up that promise :o

I know replacement parts are expensive, but isn't it a slap in the customers face when a part costs more than buying a new one.

Granted it did retail for $500 at the time (I used the $100 off coupon at Staples), but he didn't even know. Said that the OG Tab was about $350 for a new screen so I surmised something like $450. I had to wipe my tech tears with buying my Bionic a week later. Was not as good a pick-me-up as it could have been :rolleyes:.
 
Well, maybe there's a bit of truth to the screen brightness "issue". This shot is from that thread I'm getting through. SGS2 on right and Nexus on left.

He claims to have them both on the highest brightness setting. I'm just at least hoping the GN's screen is as good as my Bionic's outdoors.

Edit: Alright, I definitely posted prematurely. Everyone is getting on this guy's case for him maybe having a defective device. There are some other comparative shots, but I won't cluster up this post. If anyone is interested in the thread, here's the link:

The auto brightness is a bit messed up. I turned it off and its bright as hell now. Apparently Theres a patch on xda to fix but I haven't tries yet
