I've been playing with a GSM Galaxy Nexus that my friend got from Expansys. Here are my impressions.
ICS is better than everything else in the market. Definitely worth the wait. It's like the hardware doesn't matter anymore. Once you have ICS in your hands all the reasons why you don't want the phone (no SD card support, etc.) will vanish and you'll start making excuses to buy the phone on the spot. It is that good.
Redesigned google apps (Gmail, Email, Calendar) are amazing. It is for this reason alone that I recommend people to stay away from RAZR or Rezound. Even if they get ICS, I don't know what they will do to the stock apps.
Hardware feels nice. The screen is gorgeous. No need to worry about pentile. Doesn't feel or look cheap.
The few issues that I have are:
The volume of the ringtone/notification is too low for my taste.
The phone feels great and doesn't seem too big at all except for a few instances. When using it in one hand, it is hard to pull down the notification tray with your thumb. You have to stretch it out a bit.
Couldn't find BBC news, HBO GO in the market. All of my apps are working except for HD widgets. I wish the devs update the apps soon for the sake of UI consistency.
I wish Google would make google wallet work already. I'm dying to use this phone as a payment method and I wish it comes to Verizon's version.
I wish we could make folders inside the app launcher like GO launcher does.
I wish the GMail and Email widgets could be made smaller. They take up almost half the screen.
I don't mind the google search bar at the top but I think the voice search at the top is not accessible to your thumb (which is at the bottom) with one handed use.
Great phone but my dream phone would be GS2 + ICS even with the lower res screen. The exynos processor is awesome, GS2 camera is better and the size is perfect. I still feel Gingerbread on GS2 is faster.
