Nexus Prime? Next year? For some reason I'm highly doubting it (even if it were said by two different reps). Given that "Nexus Prime" made a resurgence this past weekend in the news courtesy of Best Buy, I wouldn't be surprised if they read about it first around the blogosphere and/or forum speculation.

At least I hope that's the case.

Totally agree - I don't know why stores, who haven't been informed of a release date, ever, would be told about a delay. It doesn't follow any sort of communication trail that we know of from VZW. yes this phone is different, and Big Red can be unpredictable, but I don't think their chain of command (the structure that is) is unpredictable. If it's delayed till after December, I'm not sure what I will do -- I might use the Rezound I got my mom for Christmas and give her my Charge. I can't deal with this phone any more and with my new house, I can't pay anything more than $100 out of pocket for a phone, not sure what my BB Buy Back rate will be next month, but if it's less than $200 after 6/7 months, I can't get it any time soon. That would be truly disappointing.
 
What's this about black and green names? I don't see any green names....blue, black, red, and I think a yellow or orange. What do the different colors represent? ( except red of course)
 
I went to the Verizon store also and baited them with next year release and got yes after the first of the year.
 
Looks like I'm going to be doing the exact same thing tonight at midnight that I've done for the past few weeks. If you need me at 12:00:01 I will be searching Verizon Wireless for any crumb of evidence leading to the Gnex. Sure, I know it won't be there. But I can't make myself NOT look. I feel like Bill Murry in Groundhog Day.

Red - Mod or Phases or Rob
Green - Guide, staff position doing most of the organizational work
Gold, aka yellow - Premium member
Orange - developer
Blue - Member
Black - Currently discussing things with staff

Site developers and Phandroid writers have slightly different colors, can't call them to mind off-hand.

Red=Moderator
Green=Guide
Blue=Member
Yellow=Premium Member
Black=Probation

long time lurker, but i am looking for some advise. If i am not in the right area please let me know and i will move it somewhere else. I have the blackberry storm 2 right now and i will switch to the gnex whenever it comes out. Here is my issue. I know little to nothing about android os other than i have been playing around with a newly purchased XOOM over the last couple of month.

So, I know i can use verizon backup assistant or google to transfer my contacts. but what about my pics and videos on my storm 2. They are all on the micro sd card and since the gnex wont have that slot, how do i get those over to the gnex

Thanks for joining.

Even though the GNex doesn't have an SD slot, you'll still be able to hook up a USB cable to a Windows computer and upload and download files to the phone.

Welcome to the forums, mside! :)

If I were you, I would have my entire Storm's SD card backed up on a PC somewhere. I had an SD card FAIL and it would have been catastrophic had I not had a backup to put on a new card.

If you have everything copied, just make a final backup when you get Nexus. Hook up the Nexus to the PC and copy everything in your picture folder to it.

Easy peasy :)

yup. And you can use google or VZW assistant for contact. Everything syncs with google the moment you log in. Best part about an Android phone!
 
I promised my wife that I wouldn't rent a ReZound but if we get no info this week that is it! My Droid 2 has a mind of its own. Takes over ten to fifteen seconds to place a call, almost 5 seconds to hang up, sends double texts, and on and on...not to mention crap battery life with the extended battery!

I need a new phone soon...come on VZW!!!

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I went to see Jack & Jill with DH this afternoon since the theater was right next to a VZW corp store. So after the movie (save your money) we headed over to the store. I knew I was going to get absolutely no valid information, but I just wanted to be close to where I will be picking up my GNex this week (fingers crossed!) I'm an addict, I know.

We wandered through and I showed DH the Razr and the Rezound, pointing out the +/-'s of each, as I have learned them here, though he knows I'm waiting for the GNex. He said, "Oh, I guess I shouldn't have gotten the Bionic..." I said, "No, you shouldn't have!" Back story to this is that he spent an hour and a half at the VZW store on our anniversary, as I sat there and waited on him. He just HAD to have a new phone that very day (and no, it wasn't the day it was released) and it led to a bit of a spat!

I decided to be merciful and suggest he sell his Bionic on Swappa so he can get himself a better phone! And to think, he's the tech savvy one in our home. Thank you Android Forum!!

So no new info, just wanted to share since the whole thing made me smile. :D
