Just to be clear, I don't harbor any ill-will against anyone in this thread, most certainly not the mods. From each perspective, every action by every poster here seems justified. I would not agree that a mod went on a power trip. They're just doing their (voluntary) job. It's not easy work.

On the other hand, I would also disagree that Han, and some of the others' whose names have been (literally) blackened, deserved the infractions they received. I know that this is a very large, unwieldy, and at times uncontrollable thread that needs strict supervision, but there has to be a limit.

In the end, the time we spend here is simply for ourselves, but in order to make it more enjoyable for everyone, I think it would be great if everyone, on all sides, just took a few steps back, maybe took a few days off from the thread, and regain some perspective on the issue.

And with that, I bid you good night, fellow Nexians. See you in the morning. :)
 
oloSnaH, I will miss your posting here. If you do not reconsider posting in this thread, I hope that you will continue participating in the other GNex threads once this phone finally drops!

Don't worry about creativity, Steevo. We're a pretty colorful bunch. Just keep in mind that the forum is FAMILY-FRIENDLY.

We're even pet friendly! Well: we DO have a Mod who "moonlights" as a bat ;)

As long as we regulate ourselves and don't spiral into a free-for-all, everything will be fine. If you have any questions about rules or guidelines, click the link in my signature or ask the question. It's great to have your input, and we need all the creativity we can get - the more the merrier around here!
 
Mixed feelings about Han. Sad to see him go, but it's his decision in the end.

The policies to avoid strong language are a standing site policy which everyone should be aware of before posting. As an admin on other sites, I can understand where the mods are coming from. As he is a lawyer, I know I would expect Han to be well aware of the rules.

I get the impression that the rest of the stuff Han is saying (after explaining why he got disciplined) is basically a straw man argument, even if it is in part a valid point. But with a thread this large, off-topic discussions are always a problem and I feel the mods have been rather lax in this regard.

Sorry to see you go Han, I'm sure you feel your toes got stepped on but maybe they were across the line.

Sucks for Han but he's only on probation. Never banned. His choice to leave.

Even though hes helped and gave so much doesn't mean he's above anyone else with rules and language.

He got no favor. Its probation and not a ban. Some of you need to take a look outside. Tis only a forum..

Nexus needs to drop soon. Everyone's going crazy. And yes I'm a nexaholic and the rezound couldn't even help.
 
Here will be the irony of this thread. All of this talk about Mods/backlash is going to result in a temporary lock of this thread as a cooling off period. Watch and see, as surely as that happens, Verizon will open up with per-orders at midnight AND NONE OF US WILL GET TO TALK ABOUT IT! Droid forums will get the scoop.
 
Han, assuming that you're still lurking, take a look at the outpouring since you announced your departure.

I don't know what exactly happened that ultimately resulted in your probation, but even if it was unfair, look at the bigger picture and don't let this incident drive you from the community. Whatever happened, it's not worth losing what you contribute to this forum.

Please reconsider and stay with the rest of us GNex loonies. :)

If you need some time away to cool off and gain some perspective, do so, but come back, ya hear?

Consider leaving the thread but not the forum bro. That's what i did and its been great. Yes I realize I'm here posting now but special circumstances make it feel appropriate. And I never said I wouldnt check in from time to time, I snuck in a thanks or two here and there after my exit. We're almost at the finish line and i think many of us will enjoy the destressing that is sure to accompany. You made this thread fun dude. Hope to see you, and all the other many friends I made here, in the forums after release.

Its a Microsoft press book but very interesting if your are a geek or interested in how computers work

If anything, there's nothing to stop us from starting a Galaxy Nexus Post-Release Thread in the Lounge to continue our "controlled insanity" after this one is shuttered. All other threads in the forum will be pretty much on topic, and for good reason. But we can continue to make friends and share experiences there that aren't necessarily Nexus-specific :)
 
On a lighter note. I rented a rezound today, and can't wait to get the GNex. I found a couple things I don't like about the ReZound. It feels clunky after using a SGSII for a week. Another thing I really disliked is there's a small ridge of rubber around the screen. This was really noticeable after using the SGSII. It was just sleek and smooth. I know this phone is gonna be amazing guys. It'll be worth every one of the 50,000+ posts here.

You are definately part of why I came out of lurk mode. You have entertained us with good humor, fun, and jokes ( yeah, they are good specifically because they are edgy!) Finally, we feel you are a pseudo insider source due to your sister's job position. Seriously, it will not at all be the same without Han and Hannette and their humorous exchanges.
I honestly don't know what else to say, if you leave, it is your choice and we respect you for it, but gosh darn, it would have been wicked fun if you had stuck around til the real release-- hell, you may have been the one to tell us the true final date. You are already a legend and will be truely missed.

PS. Would you at least consider keeping us informed IF you learn anything from your fairer sex sibling via PM?

Sorry about this Han. Especially, after all you've done for the thread. That situation doesn't really shock me though. The mods here, many of whom, haven't been here since us real early folk seem to be taking this thing too seriously lol.
Of course, Steven is an exception (I hope he wasn't involved in your case).
