My last post of the night and I'm turning in:

I do not know of an single Moderator on Android Forums who is on some power trip or has a "God Complex". Phases vets his Mods very carefully. We have a great deal of liberty on this forum, and in particular, this thread.

It's important, however, to remember that people of every demographic share in the fun here. From kids with their first Android device to grandparents trying to figure out their new smartphone: we have it all, and we're all the better for it.

Keeping that in mind, we have, for the most part, been very successful in regulating ourselves with what could be considered common social decency. Mods do not take any pleasure in deleted someone else's post, handing out infractions, or - at worst - banning people. But we HAVE to keep the forum somewhat civilized, or it's going to end up in a downward spiral that does none of us any good.

We can be creative, we can be funny, witty and clever, all without digressing into something offensive. Yes, it's the Internet. No, it's not Sesame Street here. I think we all know that. Casual language is one thing... deliberate and disparaging language is another.

I hope everyone can agree that we've done a stellar job - as have our Mods - at keeping a 50,000+ post thread in check, free of spam, and enjoyable for all. I really want this thread to stay that way until it's shuttered on Launch Day, rather than be prematurely closed because we can't agree to abide by common rules of courtesy to each other.

And with that, Ladies and Gentlemen, I respectfully take my leave for the evening. I bid you all good night, and I hope to see you all again tomorrow :)
 
Only thing I want to say on the Han topic....

This isn't the same thread as it was even a week ago. Can we please get back to the encouragement and comraderie that took place. We are all (well most of us at least) in the same situation where we are awaiting Verizon to step up the plate and make the announcement.

There's enough whining and complaining in other forums.

Han....good luck and hope to catch u back here sometime.

Meh, we've already said all there is to say haha. No one has a clue when its going to release, and ICS is amazing. Not much else to tell. Now we just have to entertain ourselves with random banter until it finally surfaces.

I've deleted some bickering posts. This has been a rough day. We all need to calm down and chill out. Our phones will be here soon and we'll be having other troubles. :)

Here's what I want to see happen from here on out.

1) Watch your language as this is a particularly volatile thread.
2) Stop discussing and critiquing mod actions.
3) If anyone has a problem with anything any of us do, we have a boss and you can take it up via PM with him. His username is Phases. He's posted on this thread. He's a nice and reasonable guy. That is the correct course of action, not bickering about decisions already made.


Under this line, mod action discussion and Han discussion stops. I'm going to have any future posts of the type deleted. Below this line will only be fun and love and respect for one another. :D

Found something interesting while fishing around on the Verizon site...

We all know that searching for 5801 brings up universal accessories, correct? Well apparently Verizon put up some more accessories, but that's irrelevant; I decided to go to one of them and load "Galaxy Nexus" as the Compatible Device.

What used to be a Droid Charge placeholder image is now an error icon/missing image. The URL of the image (https://scache.vzw.com/images_b2c/phones/mini/sam__nexus.png) brings up the following message:

I will be waiting with all of you in line on the 8th to get my Nexus. However, in light of recent actions against myself and others, I, too, will go back to lurking and stay there.

Here's to hoping Dec. 8th get's here with the quickness. Bonez, signing off.

Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) has confirmed a Galaxy Nexus launch for December.
New York City based telecommunications company and global broad band provider, Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ), has confirmed that they will be part of one of the most awaited launches in December, when they bring the Galaxy Nexus to the network.


It was rumored that Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) would be launching the LTE version of the widely reviewed Galaxy Nexus on November 28, but the company officially denied this.
It is now rumoured that the Galaxy Nexus will be launched on December 8.


If they feel it is "one of the most awaited launches" why can't they also announce a date?
 
What's your current phone and what one thing are you most excited about the GNex for?

I currently have a G2 on TMobile, and I'm most excited about getting rid of the lags I often have doing simple things like trying to load a picture in gallery. I'll toss in that I am also super stoked about that giant, HD AMOLED screen. I miss my OLED N1.

EDIT: No disrespect meant to the recently departed, they will be missed. Trying to look on the bright side.

Agreed. No disrespect meant to the Mods whatsoever as I'm sure they are doing exactly what they felt was best, but tonight's events, in addition to how unproductive this thread has made me lately, has pushed me into the lurker only camp. Again, no disrespect meant, it was just time.

Thanks for all the info guys and I'll still be rooting ya'll on.

BTW, Early and Steven, you are both class acts in my book.
 
Assuming there is a pre order period, would I be able to sign up for one even though I just plan on exchanging my razr for the gnex? Also, when I bought the razr on Tuesday and asked about the nexus, the rep and store manager told me they had accessories for it in the back, and that they had heard the 8th...grain of salt type stuff but still encouraging

I had a Thunderbolt (now have an OG Droid after selling it), but what I'm most excited about is Face Unlock, the gorgeous and expansive screen, NFC, and the aesthetics of the OS... It truly is a stunning device!
