***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

If they are going to wait until next year they may as well just bag the SGN and start talking about the next quad-core that's coming out.

I know there will always be a new phone coming out, so don't give me the, "If you are always going to wait for the next great thing..." B.S. But if they wait too long, people aren't going to want the "old" technology(only in comparison to the "new" technology) they are going to wait to buy the phone they are going to have for the next 2 years.

Yeah, I have to believe VZW would lose a ton of gnex sales releasing it after Christmas, let alone pushing it to 2012. If they truly are delaying it until 2012, they are also failing to meet their own commitment and that would be a huge PR fail on their part. Delaying until after Christmas or even 2012 would, IMHO, mean something VERY bad, technically, is wrong with the LTE version.

they would just find a way to pawn it off on sammy or google saying it failed their testing or was full of technical problems

Not yet for me... I guess I'll wait.
Anyways, it looks like Tuesday is becoming more and more likely now.

I'm on the east coast. I'll look for an announcement later on during the day, and if not, then tuesday it is. Must keep hopes up..

Yeah probably, which is a joke given it'll be on numerous carriers by then (at least the GSM version, so VZW could just cite lte issues).

Based on what? Are you talking about an announcement or release? Either way, I'm curious if this is just your usual optimism or is there concrete evidence?

It is probably just our optimistic party a few of us are a part of. WE MUST BELIEVE! And if not we will pick another date.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

No one has concrete evidence... for any date-- announcement or otherwise. Any statement regarding any date is complete guesswork.

Dude, you posted it, but if you did any reading of the thread, you would have read that we're moving on.

You did post. It was deleted.

Steven's online, so I guess I should let him say this, but he specifically forbade criticizing mod actions in this thread on the last page. Instead, you can direct any complaints towards Phases.

Although I guess you could argue that the only reason you didn't see that is because it wasn't in the OP but that's way too meta for my brain.

Nahh, it got deleted.

We have to cut out the mod criticism. It's pointless as this is just a forum, and mods are people with feelings aswell.

Maybe a PM to a mod would be the best plan of action for this scenario?

Yeah I didn't see his post and got notice of why it was deleted right after I posted it again.

I thanked your post, but I just want to be clear I don't agree with the second half. What the hell is the difference between this forum and a "real world forum"? Do "real world" forums consist of "real world" people and this one doesn't?

i think by "real world", he simply means not modded as heavily as this one where things can get much more testy

I think he's referring to the fact that most forums and message boards are not modded. Or at least not modded very heavily. Sports forums are notorious for foul-mouthed humor/banter/slander/insults/etc...

I don't know what exactly changed with this thread but a week or two ago everyone was friendly and we all got along and played nice.

Seems like there are some people in here just out to cause trouble and be negative, and frankly the entire tone of this thread has changed. It's almost not fun to even be a part of anymore...

I like coming here to read the posts hoping for a little tidbit of info, I enjoy there's other people wanting this phone like I do. It says something about this phone which makes it harder to wait for. Thanks for this being here, I don't even check the other sites I had been going to, because there wasn't any info being thrown out that was this much fun to read.

When everyone signed up, they checked the box agreeing to the terms on this privately owned site.

They are easy to sum up - just please be polite and keep it fun for everyone.

Do that and we won't have to anything to mod and everyone will be happier.

To those who are upset with those who are getting "emotional": my suggestion is to try to ignore it as best as possible. I've been ignoring the arguments for the most part and I've tried focusing on the actual substantial posts (the ones related to the reason we're all here!)
