Personal opinion: its too square for my tastes. I like the rounded corners on phones. BUT that's why so many designs are out there. Make the masses happy with choices. Now if VZW would just make me happy..... *sigh*

Gotta say that I can always rely on Nokia for quality hardware. I think Windows Phone is going places and will attract a lot of users. Their UI has a lot of spit and polish, and that alone sells devices. But I really really want, NEED LTE and last I read, we weren't going to see any Mango devices with that until later next year.

And despite that phone looking "square," I DO LIKE the rounded edges. Looks comfy and

Nope this one :)

Wow! That is a gorgeous phone! It may be my new favorite as far as looks go.

Does that remind anyone else of a giant 2nd generation Nano? (Or whichever the tall square one was?)

I also refuse to reward Microsoft with business in the phone market. I may not have a real choice on computers, but here we do. Mafia style patent hold ups of OEMs does not make me your friend.

Edit: Whoops I thought that _was_ the Lumia w/WP. Guess I should have known the lock screen wasn't Metro enough on closer examination.

My Verizon Store in Tampa FL has the "Nexus Prime" advertised for release this morning when they open. I'll update everyone if they can deliver...Don't know if a manager jumped the gun of if its a soft opening? Anyone else hear this?

Fingers crossed in Tampa!

Can you post a picture/copy of the advertisement?

It sure is. Feels great in my had, and the rounded/raised screen is a different experience as well.

Never owned a Nokia. How is the Meego experience? Are you concerned at all that there's going to be little to no more support for it from Nokia? (though, I think there's a lot of independent dev. support out there)

Edit: Mods, I hope this is too much OT chit chat :o. Just talking phones until we (hopefully) get some news later this morning.

And if you like WP7 (gasp), the Lumia 800 is nearly the same piece of hardware. :)
But, have to agree on the appearance.

At this point I wouldn't jump ship into WP7. I have an online friend who has been trying to get me to check them out but the interface is too minimal for my tastes and with Android finally coming into its own with its ecosystem, I'm not ready to switch to the underdog.

No harm in appreciating a thing of beauty, though.

Another day, another disappointment. Hopefully it turns around. Do those "be nice to everyone" forum rules apply to whoever teased us with the pre-order news yesterday? :p

Yes

Don't worry, Steven has a wet noodle he uses for individual floggings when needed. ;)

At least the Verizon Wireless homepage seemed to have moved on from advertising the Razr. Me thinks they need a certain highly anticipated smart phone to fill the Holiday promo space. ;)

It's funny, though, how long it took both Microsoft AND Google to realize what needed to be done to make that "next step." Microsoft's been playing with their feet half-in for how long? And Google has definitely been there on the technical side, but with ICS they're showing that they now grasp the importance of UX if they're going to compete with Apple.

And I'm totally cool with Android 4.0 being a "harder" UI to use than iOS (I think one of the recent reviewers made that comment). It just means more flexibility for the end user who wants it. It can be "harder" and "polished" at the same time. If Android is going to represent one extreme, and iOS the other, I wonder how WP7 is going to position itself... presumably somewhere inbetween?
