This was posted today on AC FWIW:

I'm really hoping that's true, but I wonder about both Hanette's info about a predecessor to a pre-order and the other tweets from people about 12/8 being a pre-order date and not a release date. Next week should be exciting either way!

If it IS releasing 12/8, they are really screwing the pooch by not releasing a PR or advertising it yet...just sayin'

I absolutely suck at putting those things on. Will best buy do it even if I don't buy the phone there? Or will VZW do it? I want someone to put it on for me, but also not screw it up like I will and will guarantee their work :) Otherwise, I'm just gonna go naked on this phone. I'm still debating a super thing case...just don't like the thought of adding size to the phone. :(

Yeah I have installed probably 10. For my phones and my wife's so I have gotten pretty good. Just got to get the screen protector very wet and then constantly absorb the liquid with the cloth while you squeegee.

At this point the pooch has been screwed.

Nice to know the people at verizon don't know how to spell the word "is"or galaxy, explains a lot about the whole launch.

However we take the rumors from the past couple of days, I think we can say it is highly likely we will have our Gnex in the next 1-2 weeks. 12/15 seems to be the worst case at this point.

Wait wait wait....I thought the whole saving grace behind the no SD Card was the fact that our GNex supported USB host mode, meaning we could read data off of flash drives, when did this change? So there will be no way to use external memory devices of any kind now?

given what we've heard, i wouldn't at all be surprised by a simultaneous online-order and in-store launch. i think everyone is pretty much in agreement that VZW isn't going to be marketing this device much at all (such responsibility most likely being left to Sammy and/or Google). devices with pre-order periods before in-store launch are usually those devices which are accompanied by VZW marketing campaigns. Since the GNex most likely won't have any such campaign, a simultaneous release makes sense (at least to me).

So, since people are talking about screen protectors, I'll give you guys a little write up here. I tested many different screen protectors on my Incredible about a year and a half ago. My findings on the more popular models are below.

First off, a general statement. Don't buy fingerprint-proof or fingerprint reducing screen protectors. They will decrease the quality of the screen as well as interfere with the front facing camera and proximity sensor.

Steinheil Crystal:
Pros: Best optics of any screen protector I've seen. Perfectly smooth, no tackiness, and zero orange peel effect.
Cons: Does not stand the test of time. They don't last as long as the wet application screen protectors. They scratch up much easier and the corners wear quicker. Expensive.

Zagg Invisible Shield:
Pros: Extremely durable, "self-healing".
Cons: Terrible orange peel effect, tacky feel. Almost impossible to use Swype-style keyboards with this on your screen.

Skinomi TechSkin:
This is exactly the same as the Zagg Invisible Shield, but typically available cheaper on Amazon.

Phantom Skinz Ultra Clear:
Pros: By far the least orange peel effect of all the wet application protectors. Extremely durable, and self-healing. Almost a smooth feeling as the Steinheil Crystal. Very little tackiness.
Cons: Optically still not quite as good as the Steinheil due to slight orange peel effect.

The only popular one I didn't try is Ghost Armor. From what I've read it's the same material as the Zagg, though, so that should be enough info.

Overall, in my opinion the Phantom Skinz are the best. Best of both worlds. Durability of the wet application protectors, with clarity almost on par with the dry application protectors.

I've had the same Phantom Skinz screen protector on my Incredible now for over a year with absolutely no scratches, no peeling, and no wear.

I plan on putting one of the full body kits from there on my Galaxy Nexus once they become available.

Hope that helps everyone!

Sadly, the Nexus doesn't support USB host : (

I think it is like Goodies or BC headache powder. With those your headache goes away because you can only focus on how nasty they taste. With 5 hour your forced to stay awake because you can't get rid of the nasty taste.

You won't get this for hours but I have a trick for that crap. First of all, I can't easily swallow pills so powdered pain killer rocks. I found Goody's and love it! Asprin, Tyanol and caffeine in one, kills me headaches dead!

The trick is to get some powdered drink mix like Kool Ade which is alread sweetened. Pour the crappy tasting powder into a container (I have a little pill holder) then add about half as much of the drink mix. Combine and down with water. Still tastes like crap but it's now tolerable.
