I never questioned before. Now I say hmmm. First says coming with 4.0.2 now says???? I thought everyone was giving him/her a hard time before. But now I am wondering if someone is just reporting off of released info as it seems these post come after previous leaks.

The reports are tracking with, and just lagging, what is considered hard info here, given in a dispassionate, clear manner.

I think they provide a nice wrap up in the middle of the noise.

I just don't see vzw putting out a text message that is so blatantly full of errors.

As far as the number, of course I could be wrong but all of the texts I've gotten from vzw have one more digit in them. Maybe the number is OK but I can't understand the errors like that.

Her are my thoughts which I know many will not like to include myself. I highly doubt updates will come directly from Google as other Nexus devices do and will. I think the release and preparation of this phone proves this as well as Verizon's practices of controlling everything they can on their network. I strongly believe updates will come from Google, and Google / Samsung (when necessary), but only thru Verizon.

There is a lot of what I believe to be proof of this. Here is a small list, which I know there is much more.

1. No "Google" logo on the back of the phone as with all other Nexus phones to include it's sister SGN worldwide. This proves Verizon has overall say of the phone.
2. Verizon putting on it's apps which hasn't been done before. For example : T-Mobile also has a similar myverizon which at the time of nexus s release, wasn't even compatible with the phone until about a month later. Let alone, it didn't come pre-installed.
3. Both Nexus S and 1 never had to have the type of testing and approval this one is having to get by AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile. At least not what we heard or I remember. To include hold up a release date.
4. Samsung exec saying on foxnews that "it is their phone " when questioned about a Verizon USA release. In short, he meant it's Verizon's phone. This again proves Verizon is in the driver's seat, and Google is riding shotgun in a Samsung ride powered by Android fuel. Lol. I admit, probably could use better analogy. But everyone gets the point.

I know there's more, but I can't think and I'm too tired. Just remember, those that disbelieve, when it comes true, you heard it here from Mr Nexy. Previous Nexus 1 and Nexus S owner.

The main difference may be GSM vs LTE/CDMA as far as updates and testing go. With the MyVerizon and BackUp apps, I know that that is now mandatory for all new Verizon phones.

I guess I wasn't aware of the requirement. I thought the i-phone didn't have these apps. If it doesn't, it proves my theory more. If it does, we shall see when updates are delayed for us and not the rest of the world such as our launch has been. Either way, our phone is being treated differently than all other nexus' i have owned and am aware of. I could be wrong though. Here's hoping. I'd hate to be right!

The iPhone came out before the mandate from VZW corporate (this is all 3rd or even 4th hand mind you) so it doesn't have it. iCloud was the trigger if I remember correctly. That is what VZW is looking to do with the back up app. They want to be able to pull everything and store it in a cloud for users plus possibly sell you more storage space.

What I meant about GSM is the fact that most of the previous Nexus phones sold were all GSM. Updates were more or less standardized for every phone on all networks that way. Pushing one update had everyone covered. With LTE/CDMA they have to make sure that a new update doesn't mess up the ability to use the phone as a phone. Lol. I love that. Testing, testing, and testing again. Maybe you'll talk me out of signing up for Verizon when the phone is released. Nah... I'm ready for some LTE speed. :eek:

This is news. Maybe not the kind of news you we're hoping for. The device is coming soon. That's not new news, we already knew.

Do they not know they put this on an android device which you log with a google account which does all this for you? lol i dont get why vzw is doing this.
