You watched 24 as well? Finally someone else!

I can never find someone (except my dad) who watched the show. I watched every episode on TV and own all the seasons on DVD. Probably one of my favorite TV shows ever.

EVERY season - EVERY episode! I'd record them and run 3 or 4 episodes back to back on the weekends. My wife thought I was crazy. Perhaps she was right. Why else would I be glued to this forum?

I find this very annoying. I email a lot from craigslist so my "contacts" can get cluttered. Yeah I have it set to phone numbers only which is pretty sweet, but when I go to email somebody I can get a long list if i type the right letter. Somedays I go into my gmail or contacts and delete all the craigslists email addresses.

I was annoyed by this too. I did some research last month.

Go to your mail settings scroll down a bit and click "I'll add contacts myself"

Another problem I have with Gmail. People I add to circles in Google + show up in my contacts on my phone
Tip - You can create another Gmail account and move your contacts to the new account. Then make your phone only sync to the new Gmail account so when you add people to your circles they wont be going to your phones contacts.

My brother sent me this this morning:

"Look what button showed up yesterday morning in the system."

Edit: I forgot I have to be specific: He works for Verizon. He works in the call center. Did not describe what the button does, but the phone is now 'in the system' whatever that means.

Well, I have a nice, new button to look at now, so I have that going for me.

I cannot wait to see what you power users do with this phone.

As for me.... I just need an updated handset & LTE. My old wrinkled eyes needed the larger display yesterday.

My OG Droid Has Served Me Well

Something one of you developer types can possibly make money on is an APP or Theme that will forbid any screens with WHITE or bright colored backgrounds.

Law enforcement, Security and PI types need this Mucho Grande for surveillance/undercover work that requires communications that don't light up your face or your location.

Someone please come up with one. I would love to have a switch that made it all Red on Black.

I would pay for this kind of app.

I know I use Screen Filter in the android market. It has served me well as I fall into one of those categories you listed. Hope this helps. THe best I had was cyanogens RenderFX but not sure if you can get those on non-CM phones.

And Google could decide JellyBean will be 7.3.114. It's all arbitrary.

Edit: In an earlier post I got Donut and Cupcake wrong.

1.5 Cupcake
1.6 Donut
2.0 - 2.1 Eclair (Droid 2.0 - Nexus One 2.1)
2.2 Froyo
2.3 GingerBread (Nexus S 2.3)
3.0-3.1 Honeycomb (Xoom)
4.0 - ... ICS (Galaxy Nexus)

From 1.6 to 2.0 We got a bunch of new API's and a face lift of the OS.
2.1 New APIs
2.2 Brought Dalvik cache, New APIs
2.3 Lots of new APIs and some minor noticeable visual changes as well as a lot of under the cover improvements
3.0 Huge visual change lots of APIs added but tablet Only
4.0 Evolutionary visual changes from 3.0 but they merged 2.3 and 3.0 in this as well as more under the cover improvements

1.0 was astro and between 1.1 and 1.4 was bender. once the codenames became public they stopped using popular names so they didn't have to worry about the rights to use the names

I'm a little disappointed in the desktop and car docks. They allow ZERO room for cases. I own a Nexus One with a case and it's always been a pain in the rear to take it off every time i want to charge or dock it. Why can't they have it be made to accommodate cases in some way? Even having invisible shield on it looks like a really tight fit (read: too tight).

In my truck I use a combination of this: Tetrax - XWAY, EGO, GEO, FIX, FIXWAY, XCASE - XWAY line

and this:

The round thing at the top of the M2 can be removed and the tetrax latches on to the screw that you leave in the M2. Then you can put the disk from the tetrax on the back of your case and it makes a great mount that can be portrait or landscape. I also have no trouble plugging a USB in for charging w/ my Dinc.

The Nexus release has to be Verizon's most secretive silent launch ever.

I can remember the Samsung Omnia 2 had a pretty big following and Verizon kept quiet right up until launch day. They have some unusual marketing tactics.

The incredible was the same way. Everyone knew everything there was to know about the device except ... the launch date.

Actually a lot of Verizon launches are like that. You know its coming, you just never know when.

Poll question...sort of...

So, are you an F5 person or a hit the circular refresh arrow on Chrome person when on this site? Or are you a menu button then refresh person on your cell?

At work, I'm a mouse on refresh button guy. At home, I'm on my cell, so...
Just curious cause I've never done this so much in my life. Love this place. :)

f5 at work because I'm switching between programs and it's actually a pc. Click at home on laptop/desktop. and menu refresh on cell -- so all of them at one point or another! :D

Can you guys imagine how productive we'll be after next week? I don't know about you guys, but I can't play with my phone during work that much; forum chatter is a lot easier to pass off while using my computer.

Our lives will certainly change.

Yeah, but with the built-in screen capture on ICS, I can't imagine how many "My Homescreen is cooler than yours" posts there will be. ugh.

That button controls the overhead light in my pantry! I've been wondering why it's been turning on and off randomly over the past couple days. :p

I have a curious question since hearing the source bashing yesterday and this morning. How can someone here "vet" a source? If we can verify this information why would we need the source in the first place?

If someone wants to throw a date out then by all means do it. In this forum it should be taken as an opinion and nothing more. This is not some super secret squirrel society that has they keys to a doomsday device.

End grump

We are all a little tired and a little wired and we all just want a little confirmation from Verizon. Points for partial movie quote :-)

That does look like a very impressive car dock. My biggest fear though is ventilation. My OG Droid would get very hot when navigating, plus my car doesn't have A/C. Summer trips usually resulted in my phone getting so hot that plugged in it lost more battery. So I would run it unplugged with one hand either holding it in front of the fan or hiding it in some shade, then transitioning to plugged in when in it was cool enough.

That car dock looks like a coffin in terms of trapping in heat.

there is the big camera hole... dunno if that'll help a little.
I know what you're talking about. When navigating on multiple hour road-trips, the combination of using gps, charging and driving towards the sun, sometimes combined into a discharging situation, or at least a "too hot to charge" situation. Sometimes I would drape a hat over/in front of the phone so it would be in the shade.

Im hoping this comes with a little pad so this can be suctioned on the dash...my radar dector is taking up my window real estate.

Still have a pad from my Droid dock. ;)

since I'm browsing on a CR-48

Have you checked out the "Show your "Incredible" Layout" thread in the Dinc forum? Those guys are amazing. There are some killer themes there - a bunch where the phone isn't even rooted w/custom ROMs.
