OK...so Canada is getting the GN on the 7th with this Canadian rock band I have never heard of before...I like it. So I was wondering which band we should have here in the states kick off our Nexus release...I vote for The Killers!

This sounds like an expense that will drive up the overhead costs of Verizon and ultimately increase the cost of plans, phones and accessories for each consumer.

No music.

Just saw a 3rd party electronics store online selling a Samsung-i515 Verizon Nexus for $687.50 with No in-stock date, but an estimated ship date of 12/9.

Negri? That was ninja'd a few million pages ago. $30 coupon too if you google.

One band making that much of a difference in the total cost? I disagree....it would bring some excitement and add extra joy to an already joyous day.

I agree. At this point I've purchased from everywhere for various reasons. Last two phones for myself were at Best Buy for a few reasons. Most recently it was for the Buy Back program because I knew I wouldn't be keeping this DCharge. Which means I have to get my Gnex there. I got my Mom's Rezound on Amazon for the penny deal. and I got my boyfriend's iphone 4 at the VZW corporate store because we were doing some crazy transfer of liability and adding a new line all at once buncha bs because of my ex kind of stuff.

Any retailer has their benefits and drawbacks depending on your own situation.

There are pros/cons on purchasing vzw phone elsewhere. Costco has very generous return policy, but they can't do early upgrade that vzw does. But if you have secondary line eligible for upgrade, you can have them upgrade that and transfer to your line.

Is there any costco bundle rumors, like there was for the Bionic?? I wonder what their promotion would be for this.

Absolutely, that's part of my point. I was only sharing my personal experiences recently as an example. I haven't done an upgrade through Costco myself.

Edit: But it does sound like a very good deal to go there if you can!

FWIW...Just got back from my local Best Buy. The guy there that is a huge fan of this phone said that the leek that was floating around looked to be very true. He said VZW will have the phones on the 8th and BB and other places at a later date BUT he also was extremely sure that at least BB will be holding a pre-order.

Been lurking here for a while anxiously waiting for details on the release, and thought I'd finally chime in with a few stories about best buy...

A manager at Best Buy told me over the summer that he had physically handled the then-upcoming iPhone and that it was 4G with a larger screen...so obviously BB employees sometimes talk out of their you know whats....

Last week someone at BB told me that VZW is contractually obligated to make phones available in BB the same day as in VZW stores. Not sure if that is true.

Finally, a few years ago I did a preorder of the original blackberry storm through best buy and they didn't get enough devices in on day 1 to fulfill all their preorders, and they gave out phones to those who preordered them in random order. So I don't know whether their policies have changed, but back then there was no guarantee that a preorder would get you a phone on launch day.

Anyone have experience with preorders or launch day orders through wirefly? They have a good stock?

Somewhat on topic, but referencing a cousin device to the Nexus I am watching that COULD be more of a brother or sister device with some hacking.

Per P3Droid and his LTE VZW Galaxy Tab 7.7 tweets I finally got a reply that this version will NOT ship with Voice capability stock. P3 replied to me suggesting it will have what is needed to put it on a voice plan with software customization's only.

ME:
@P3Droid Still curious to know if your VZW GTab 7.7 has voice capability like the others and unlike the first GTab.

P3Droid reply:
stock it doesn't.

EDIT: Somewhat surprised no one so far in such a big and fast thread on the Nexus would also be interested in a similar spec'ed small tablet that can work as a phone.

Since no one else will bite (except OTD obviously) - what was said?

Not much that we don't already know. He doesn't work for Verizon, he's expecting (hoping) for a launch date on the 8th. I didn't want to pry he was a really cool dude. He has had Razr and said it blows the Razr away. (obviously) if he tells me more and is ok with me sharing it I will.
