***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I would break contract but I think it is like 60 bucks at this point not a major selling point for me.

Biggest thing is no 4G LTE in my area yet... And Verizon has a little better coverage in my area. But I know the smart decision is to hold off. At least for the time being.

But it looks sooo tasty....

LTE eats data. I stream music at work maybe half the time, but I got 2 GBs in a week without even trying to push it really.

I think data plans will start to build back up to unlimited plans in the future. I wouldn't be surprised to see verizon adopt the double data permanently on LTE phones. Two GB can be eaten in a blink.

I don't think the only advantage of a dedicated button is for quick access to the camera app. It's also just nicer to use for taking pictures--as opposed to pressing your finger onto the screen.

I really like the dedicated button on my Dx. I think it would be a plus on any phone.

Completely agree. Dedicated buttons are especially nice if they're two stage, like the one on the OG Droid. First stage focuses, second stage snaps. It allows you to set up the shot with focus and fire off a very quick shot once everything is posed.

I was JUST talking to a buddy of mine who works at ATT about this. He said with ATT switching to LTE as their data network now, unlimited will possibly be making an appearance once again. The thing with that is though, with LTE + unlimited and millions of users, the speeds are going to decrease dramatically. Although, for a mobile phone, I'd still take 3-5 download and 1-2 upload.

Unfortunately, the carriers will sell it as such an awesome plan at say $60 a month while they had the same thing for $30 a month just a year or 2 earlier.

I finally figured out what is going on here

Verizon Exec 1: I bet I can make Android Forums have a thread that is larger then the Dinc one!
Verizon Exec 2: No Wai!!!111 lol, I bet you a dollar you cannot
Verizon Exec 1: Deal
....(Exec 2 leaves room)
Verizon Exec 1 calls hidden mole at Samsung: Delay the Nexus for me, put in some sort of easily fixable but annoying bug (maniacal laugh)

I was at two Corporate VZW stores asking about the GNex release date:

Store 1- "We really don't know, we originally heard 12/8, but we heard today that will probably be pushed back...how far we don't know".

Store 2- "Who knows? Hey, I played with it and to tell you the truth, it's just another Android". I said 'not what I've heard and read'. He responded "You gotta love the internet. Look, it's just another Android and it's not even as fast as the Rezound. Plus, it's only got a 5 megapixel camera". I responded 'I know something about cameras and the whole megapixel race is nonsense. I've played with 5 megapixel cams that were better than 8 megapixel cams'. He responded "But I PLAYED with the Galaxy and it's pictures were not nearly as good as the Rezound's. This thing is so ridiculously hyped, you'll see it's just another Android".

I finally got fed up with the guy's almost hostile tone. What was interesting was this was the same store where I was ready to buy a Rezound when a different sales guy (that I've dealt with before) said "You should wait a week until the Nexus comes out, we played with it yesterday and it's amazing...the best yet. At least wait to see it before buying the Rezound, just in case you find you really like it better". Of course he was wrong about it being out 'next week', but his approach was 180 from today's guy.

I wonder if he wanted you to buy a Rezound?

I use them on my runs, doing yard work, riding the lawn mower.. the sound is better than average and the fit is great.
I highly recommend them if anyone is interested in them. ;) I have been using them for about six months now. I even ran a half marathon in them in September an never had a problem....
