You're doing it wrong - I have a 5-line family plan and nobody (besides me) cares about phones, so I always have plenty of upgrades.

they do care, though. They're not as patient as I am, but they care about being on decent phones with good features. I just added them all, this year, a couple of them, just last month... so it's just my upgrade, currently... actually, that's not true, somehow, through VZW messing up, the last Bionic line I added is also eligible for an upgrade, as well.

I hate snow. Only time it's good is if I am snuggled on the couch reading or snuggling with... Well, yeah, there hasn't been any of that so reading it is.

I like the snow, but only because we get it about once a year, but it's usually a blizzard! (I kid a blizzard here is a flurry dusting up North).

My pooch however absofreekinlutely loves the snow. Loves the outdoors as I do and there is no stick that's too big. Honestly this is one of the smaller ones.

I can see your argument for fans and such, but I still will never understand the money argument people have against the Yankees and other franchises. These people/companies that own these teams are loaded. They have hundreds of millions, sometimes billions of dollars to spend but they choose not to. Do you remember when Steinbrenner bought the Yankees from CBS? I don't, I am too young, haha but from reading, they were nothing at that point. He bought them for some ridiculously low amount of money and SPENT money to get players there. Yes, people don't like that (especially Rays fans) and they like when their talent is home grown. Again there is an argument against that. The Yankees have and have had for a while a top 5 farm system in the league. Jeter, Mo, Robbie, Montero, Gardner, Hughes, and soon to be the killer B's pitching all from their farm system, then they perform, and they get paid. Yes they buy some talent, but that is because it starts with the farm system getting paid, other people see the talent they have, and then they get paid good money to play here. The name and the Championships help, but other teams have SOOO much money to spend, but they are selfish old farts who don't want to spend their money. Steinbrenner was an ass, but he wasn't afraid to spend money out of his own pocket to make the Yankees successful again.

I know this is even more off topic than what you initially started ranting about, but I felt like ranting off your rant. Haha.

I am going to dinner first - it is not a date - it is dinner with a friend who is then going to be the one to show me Star Wars for the first time. Yes, Episode 4.
And while it isn't a 'date' because neither of us has any expectations other than friendly conversation, dinner and movie I am still looking to my 'family' for opinions because it's what a woman stresses over.

Just a Verizon employee sharing what I know about the Nexus release. : Android

Hey everybody! I work at a privately owned Verizon store and we've recently discovered when we can order the Galaxy Nexus. First and foremost let me say I am just as excited about this phone phone as anyone... finally a Nexus device on Verizon!! I've been trying to find out as much information as possible, and check /r/android everyday. While we have yet to hear any official word from the Verizon higher ups, a third party phone distributor notified us that we can order the devices on the 6th of this month! That seems to align with the rumors it's being released on the 8th. This distributor is very reliable and supplied us with our RAZRs and Bionics for their respective launch days, so I have no doubt about this. I've been bugging my boss everyday, asking him when we can order it, so the second he got word of this he let me know. Although I don't know much more than this, if you have any questions let me know.

That is adorable! Mine hates the snow (and she's part akita) - go figure! My brother's mutt loves it - he hops like a bunny when there is snow on the ground but won't come inside.

Everything is lining up. This is the 5th or 6th independent story to go up mentioning anything about the 8th, that I saw anyway. Indirect retailers are ordering their stock. Verizon corporate stores in California are receiving shipments. It's finally coming!

I just got back from the Verizon next to my house in Charlotte (beautiful, sunny day today). The store windows were all boarded up. I asked the greeter what happened. He said someone recently drove their truck right through the front window to steal product.

After checking out the new phones, I made my way over to the sales associates behind the computers. I starting talking with one and asked her about the double data plan

I need a techie person to answer a question a friend posed to me. I don't know the answer to it, so I'm asking you guys.

My friend wants to be able to use the Gnex on an airplane streaming WiFi. Is there ANY way to kill the telephone radio while keeping the wiFi radio open when flying.

He wants to use is as a laptop and stream media (movies, netflix, etc.) while on an airplane, but turn the phone off so as not to break any rules.

Is this possible? Is it root only? TIA.

Heh! This is not a prediction, and I was only funnin with the "Got Out Of Dodge" phrase.

As a time killer before the GA - LSU Game I called my local COSTCO's Wireless Advocates Kiosk and spoke with the manager.

I opened with: "I understand the Galaxy Nexus is coming soon and I am wondering if Costco will have a package like the Bionic did with the OEM accessories.

He returned volley with a "Not sure about the included package other than there will be some sort of a package as the norm. The OEM package had lots of advanced promotion so most likely it will not be an OEM package. But until we get the pallet....who knows. We always include a Blah Blah..(....I'll save you that.....).

I was then informed without asking - the GN is shown on our system as "Shipped". I have no tracking data yet".

Then he enthusiastically asked if he could call when he knows more. I asked, "Know more about the package?". He said yes and to let you know when it will be available.
We exchanged contact info and I called his back to confirm.

I would assume the phone has airplane mode like all do to turn off the cell phone radios.

I am almost positive that you can have wifi on while in airplane mode.

edit: Just tested it on my og droid and confirmed it.
