Alright if this works out, I'll look totally awesome about a year from now:
I'm gonna call it now, the next nexus phone- the Casio G'zOne Ranger Nexus is going to drop on October 28th 2012.

Haha, well this is one post I WON'T have to edit ;) LOL.

Eh, I always hated facebook sync. Of course, I have like 1000 friends, most of whom I don't ever talk to anymore.

I do too but i love having a photo for all of my contacts or at least almost all of them. So I just turn off the sync for those that don't have phone numbers and i am all good. I will definitely be among those who try and find a work around to sync with FB out the gate. I use fb messenger on a decent basis too.

/college kid problems

(actually it's also a filmmaker problem because I have a ton of fb friends who are colleagues and i don't have their phone number but i can use FB to set up jobs with them)

When I first get this Phone, how do I prevent it from automatically downloading all my apps from my previous phone? I want to manually download what apps I want on this phone since I hear a lot still don't work and there are a bunch I don't want on my new phone. Thanks guys:confused:

After you sign in to google when you first boot the phone, it will automatically begin to sync your applications. Go to the market, hit menu, and select "my apps". This will bring up a list of all of your apps. You should see a button to stop all. Select this and then manually choose the apps you want to update or install.

Anyone think we'll see a commercial during football tomorrow? I recall seeing the first commercials for the Thunderbolt and the Razr during NFL broadcasts.

You're right, I love that aspect of it. I was more talking about the syncing my contacts with my facebook friends and getting 1000 people in my phone contact list.

That part I understand. Im not quite to the 1000s of friends level though because I'm just not that popular.

Remember when it was exciting if you had 100 people in your contacts? And phones had a max number of them!

How do you sign into google? I created my account when I got my DX and haven't had to sign in since. I have no idea what my password is.

I'll be taking the morning off (at least) whatever day this phone is released. I'm planning on being at the closest Verizon corp store when it opens

Hows everyone doing this evening? Staying in on this beautiful Saturday night? Oh, how I love being a geek..

Haha, well I only have about 25 contacts, only my closest friends are in my phone. I have facebook chat for everyone else.

There are good reasons why I wear a Casio, not a Rolex. Could a watch be built that's tougher and more durable than mine? Sure. But it would also be heavier and more expensive. Everything comes at a cost.
If my watch (or my phone) is durable enough to withstand the way I use it, for as long as I'm likely to use it, what's the point in making it any more so? Especially if that would make it more expensive or bulkier?

Other people obviously have different priorities, and I have no problem with that. But not every phone has to be built like a tank.

On top of those good points I'll add user experience. I love that my Casio has atomic clock time sync and it has solar recharging. It just works. (Perhaps Rolex's do this too...pretty sure I'll never find out from personal experience :))

I know that calls to Verizon stores are generally considered worthless because the same information is relayed over and over again, but I just talked to a guy and he said that the internal resource they use within retail listed their specific location as receiving the Galaxy Nexus in January. This might explain why some stores say December and others January; perhaps it's a priority sort of thing, where some stores get them first and then they trickle out to others later.

So that's probably why some reps may have said January...

Just putting that out there, FWIW.

Yeah, I am here with my 10 month old, the wife and older kids went to a Christmas show at church. I finished getting my christmas lights up this afternoon, pretty proud of myself. By the way, are we still hiding off-topic?

I felt that way about the Charge. Got over it in about a day - i am sure you will adjust to the gnex very quickly! Although when typing frequently on the app I sort of miss the physical keyboard.

I cannot wait to get rid of the Dcharge and it's crappy radio. I sort of regret ditching my OG but at the same time, I was missing so many calls because it wouldn't ring, I was always getting in trouble at work. It was freezing so much I just had to get something, so I went with the 4g with the best battery life at the time. And honestly its a lot lot better with the gingerbread update!

If there wasn't a gnex on VZW then i would probably just root the hell out of my charge and stick it out. But yay for me, I don't have to!

Btw, I'm using the Rezound headphones on it, sounds good on my Lupe fiasco station. But the mic/call quality isn't great, worse than a speaker phone I think.

Please do a comparison between the Charge's screen and the Nexus' when you get it. I'm very interested to hear the difference between a low res. SAMOLED+ display and high res. SAMOLED display.

Also, are you a big Lupe fan? I LOVE him...when I listen to his raps I find it hard to stomach some other modern day rappers' music. And what's a "Lupe fiasco station" btw? F&F up!:)

Hey guys (and gals) If your planing on going to a store to buy your nexus post it up here in a thread I started... :)
