So do I.
Alright if this works out, I'll look totally awesome about a year from now:
I'm gonna call it now, the next nexus phone- the Casio G'zOne Ranger Nexus is going to drop on October 28th 2012.
Eh, I always hated facebook sync. Of course, I have like 1000 friends, most of whom I don't ever talk to anymore.
When I first get this Phone, how do I prevent it from automatically downloading all my apps from my previous phone? I want to manually download what apps I want on this phone since I hear a lot still don't work and there are a bunch I don't want on my new phone. Thanks guys![]()
I do too but i love having a photo for all of my contacts or at least almost all of them. So I just turn off the sync for those that don't have phone numbers and i am all good. I will definitely be among those who try and find a work around to sync with FB out the gate. I use fb messenger on a decent basis too.
/college kid problems
(actually it's also a filmmaker problem because I have a ton of fb friends who are colleagues and i don't have their phone number but i can use FB to set up jobs with them)
You're right, I love that aspect of it. I was more talking about the syncing my contacts with my facebook friends and getting 1000 people in my phone contact list.
Here's my history - dinc
After you sign in to google when you first boot the phone, it will automatically begin to sync your applications. Go to the market, hit menu, and select "my apps". This will bring up a list of all of your apps. You should see a button to stop all. Select this and then manually choose the apps you want to update or install.
That part I understand. Im not quite to the 1000s of friends level though because I'm just not that popular.
Remember when it was exciting if you had 100 people in your contacts? And phones had a max number of them!
There are good reasons why I wear a Casio, not a Rolex. Could a watch be built that's tougher and more durable than mine? Sure. But it would also be heavier and more expensive. Everything comes at a cost.
If my watch (or my phone) is durable enough to withstand the way I use it, for as long as I'm likely to use it, what's the point in making it any more so? Especially if that would make it more expensive or bulkier?
Other people obviously have different priorities, and I have no problem with that. But not every phone has to be built like a tank.

I felt that way about the Charge. Got over it in about a day - i am sure you will adjust to the gnex very quickly! Although when typing frequently on the app I sort of miss the physical keyboard.
I cannot wait to get rid of the Dcharge and it's crappy radio. I sort of regret ditching my OG but at the same time, I was missing so many calls because it wouldn't ring, I was always getting in trouble at work. It was freezing so much I just had to get something, so I went with the 4g with the best battery life at the time. And honestly its a lot lot better with the gingerbread update!
If there wasn't a gnex on VZW then i would probably just root the hell out of my charge and stick it out. But yay for me, I don't have to!
Btw, I'm using the Rezound headphones on it, sounds good on my Lupe fiasco station. But the mic/call quality isn't great, worse than a speaker phone I think.
