you shut your mouth when youre talking to me!
speaking of music. how do y'all think this is going to work in an armband?
im hoping it wont be so big that it will make armband wear uncomfortable. my droid / 3g is too unstable to take running with me but I'm hoping when I get the Nexus, I can stream music during my run while also running MyTracks.
I wouldn't suggest it, it's a pretty large phone, get a dedicated mp3 player, rock box it and throw in the microsd from whatever phone you are replacing.
I use the sense 2gb I got from a Woot! BOC, rockboxed and with a microsd slot I can easily change the music on there.
yeah but my mp3 player cant track my run via gps.
Pirated or not I ain't doing it. This whole trend of the Cloud thing has me turned off.
Google Music eh? Any time someone in business I don't personally know wants to do something for me for free out of the goodness of their heart I take pause to study.
BTW, mine are not pirated. I did a DJ a favor once and he asked me what he could do in return. I handed him a 500GB HDD.![]()
So you got a bunch of crap in there too eh?
Music related rant. I'd advise most to avoid:
I'm kind of a music Nazi...
and old school at that. Not in the sense that I don't utilize the digital music revolution. I'm speaking more along the lines of how I relate to my music. So many people get caught up in file-counts and GB's but I'd hardly call them supporters of the music. Its less about the numbers and more about appreciating the music you have. If you don't know what you have, or don't listen to it- why have it?
So ok, I thanked those who correctly equated how you acquired that 500GB of music with piracy, though it is a bit different (and no way anyone here is going to change YOUR mind on the subject). But I get a kick out of people showing off their outrageously sized collections to then only say something along the lines of "Yeah I just had a friend copy some music for me." or other stories along those lines. Everything I own I searched for independently. I also have an outrageous collection, but as I stated above-- I ran a store, I selected everything I own. I enjoy everything I own and listen to it. Some much more than others obviously, because I own a room full of music.
I could tell you details about many of the albums in my collection, sometimes as detailed as who produced it and mixed it and what other albums in my collection they worked on. I could correlate EVERYTHING I own to a memory-- a live show, an open mic, an in-store meet and greet, a movie/TV scene, a scene from my life etc... Too many people think of music as a shallow commodity anymore and it is very disheartening.
End rant. Sorry, so incredibly far off topic for a rant like that, but I had to vent hahaha. JUST HAD a conversation about this sort of thing earlier today and I was a bit worked up.

Midnight and....!!! No pre-order. Darn. Well hopefully we'll get a press release tomorrow.

Case and point
Question
You have said that a couple of times lately. What do you mean?
Question about Handbrake:
I've never used handbrake before, but it seems pretty straightforward. Would I just upload my file and then set it to the settings described in the OP (on the official handbrake thread) once we figure out the optimal customizations?
Why can't I just transfer the movie to my sdcard on my phone? I mean what is the advantage to converting using the settings on handbrake first? I'm guessing it allows for less lag?
Are the suggested settings to be used for all videos? For example in the OP it suggested for the picture width set to 720, but when I was converting a test video, the option was grayed out and set at 624? Why is this? Sorry for the easy questions guys like I said I'm new to this!
Edit: I know most use handbrake to convert and rip from a dvd, but if mine is already on my hard drive is there a point to me using this software if I want to transfer the video to my phone?
I posted on the official handbrake thread a few weeks ago, and never got an answer. Figured I would try here. TIA
Don't hold your breath
smaller file size
Handbrake:
Does it also give better video playback? or just the smaller file size?
