No those came after the og droid was launched. The first droid commercials were different and then a few weeks later they came out with the droid does commercials.

As far as I recall, the droid does commercials came out first, prior to launch. In fact, I remember immediately going online to try and find out what it was, then fought with customer support for almost a week trying to get my account fixed (they had messed up my upgrade date).

Other commericials came later, including my favorite, which referred to the iPhone as a "digitally clueless beauty pageant queen".

I'm not saying I won't be getting this phone, or won't be handing them my money. But I am saying I'm considerably less happy about doing so than I was just a week or two ago. This whole thing has me frustrated and I will not smile at all when getting this phone...until I'm out of Verizon's sight at least.

I have no idea but if BB gets the phone the same time as Verizon I will be able to see the shipment to BB then confirm that phones are being shipped out to Verizon.

I will be on the lookout for BB specials this week @ work.

if i had the money i'd buy the gsm version and switch to t-mobile or att but figures i don't if i wanted to by the time i could get it the lte one would be available so i'm stuck either way

I'm having a desperate inner struggle between getting one from handtec, and waiting for Verizon.

Someone posted a great post yesterday about this. You gotta remember. Its in most contracts of employment that you are not to give out company information or take photos of company possessions that are not public yet and dispense them. People dont want to loose jobs, its the holiday season and they need the money more then ever. Imagine if you went to the stock room to photo a Gnex box and your manager or senior rep walked back there. You bet your butt you could face trouble or firing.

I know as much as I love this site and the community, I wouldnt take any photos (not to mention with the geolocation on alot of phones if you forgot to disable it, it may trace back to your store) but try and just tell info out as I got it.

- On a side note. A contact I have in a local verizon region told me that when verizon does PR releases, BGR gets them first. He doesnt know why, but thats who they send the first bits of info to.

Although I somewhat agree with you, It is not the end of the world- and I am far from the point of turning into a drama queen because of it. And btw the Skyrocket is 4g lol.

Could still be due to disruption. They had to know that anyone who came in looking at it wasn't buying anything since it's not out yet. One thing stores don't want is crowds of people gathered in them, not buying anything. Especially if other customers were looking at it, then deciding not to buy whatever they went there for, to wait for the Nexus instead.

Good luck on the new phone. I just ordered two Skyrockets for my parents on Black Friday. I believe it is a 4G LTE phone too. They love theirs, BTW.

Basically, a CSR said the phone will go up for preorder next Wednesday. And of course that, combined with the fact that it's just past 12:30 in the afternoon on a Monday and we haven't heard anything from Verizon yet, is causing people here to go into freak out mode. Some are even dropping out and going with AT&T because of it.

Of course these are all rational reactions. /s
